Of the four second-round matchups, the Washington Capitals-Pittsburgh Penguins certainly is the highlight. The teams also met in the second round last season, with the Penguins claiming the series in six games en route to a Stanley Cup championship. Other second-round series pit the Ottawa Senators against the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference, and the St. Louis Blues against the Nashville Predators and the Anaheim Ducks against the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference. A video posted to Facebook by Gulf News on Thursday shows members of the UAE Capital’s Civil Defense team rescuing a black kitten from a free way. The team blocked off the road after its operation room received a call about the kitten in distress Thursday morning, according to Gulf News. This wasn’t some ordinary street closing, however. Watch Dustin Pedroia Apologize To Manny Machado After ‘Mishandled’ Situation

Share this: Manny Machado probably had it coming after his dangerous takeout slide of Dustin Pedroia on Friday night. But even Pedroia doesn’t condone how his Boston Red Sox teammate dealt retribution. In the eighth inning of Sunday’s eventual 6-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles, Red Sox reliever Matt Barnes threw at Machado’s head, earning himself an immediate ejection. NESN’s cameras caught Pedroia and Machado exchanging words after the incident, with Pedroia appearing to tell Machado that Barnes’ actions weren’t in line with how he would have handled the situation. “It’s not me,” Pedroia appears to tell Machado. “If if I wanted to do something, I would have hit you the first time.” In short: Pedroia wasn’t OK with how Barnes chose to retaliate.

Patrice Bergeron’s Goal Forces Overtime In Bruins-Senators Game 6

Share this: BOSTON — The Bruins forced overtime Sunday in Game 6 of their first-round Stanley Cup playoff series against the Ottawa Senators thanks to a Patrice Bergeron goal at 1:57 of the third period. Bergeron buried a rebound that came off a shot from linemate Brad Marchand. Game 6 at TD Garden is the fourth contest of this series to go to overtime. The Senators are 2-1 in these games. Jackie Bradley Jr. Believes Red Sox’s Offense ‘Will Get Going’ Soon

Share this: The Boston Red Sox’s offense was relatively quiet in their 4-2 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday night at Camden Yards. The lone bright spot for the Red Sox was center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr. launching his first home run of the season. Bradley became the fifth player in Red Sox history to hit a home run onto Eutaw Street in Baltimore. The center fielder believes that the offensive production will begin to pick up for the Red Sox. Aaron Hernandez’s Family Schedules Monday Funeral In Connecticut

ESPN and media outlets reported Saturday that Hernandez’s family has scheduled the funeral for the former New England Patriots tight end for Monday in Bristol, Conn., where Hernandez starred as a high school football player. The funeral will be held at the O’Brien Funeral Home, according to ESPN. Hernandez’s family released a statement asking for privacy during their time of mourning. “The family of Aaron Hernandez wishes to thank all of you for the thoughtful expressions of condolences,” the statement said. “We wish to say goodbye to Aaron in a private ceremony and thank everyone in advance for affording us a measure of privacy during this difficult time.” The 27-year-old was found dead in his prison cell
