“Cal had his second operation on Thursday morning," says Lucio Cecchinello, LCR Honda Team Principal. "The surgery took less than two hours and he was awake about an hour after the procedure finished. He didn’t complain about any particular pain after coming round. The surgery was performed by Dr Matthias Russ, the same doctor who carried out the first operation, and he stated that he was very pleased with how the surgery had gone. Cal has had two small plates inserted and he will be ready to fly home on Sunday night - provided there are no complications, which nobody expects. Once he’s back home he will start physiotherapy and will try his best to be fit again as soon as

Reigning Champion TRASTEVERE73 seals victory in Semi-Final 2
The race started in dramatic fashion as four riders went down at the tight left handed first corner, with QP NOVA QP, MOTERO_1, RICK_MOTOGP_35 and IVAN_AVELLA all giving themselves work to do if they were to reach an all-important top six position. However, getting a great launch from P1 on the grid, there were no such troubles for TRASTEVERE73 as he and PAUL_IG took off at the front. Source link
A troubled Island voyage for Honda
“When I was on the bike, I didn’t understand anything and I was honestly angry because I felt contact from behind,” began Marquez, speaking about the incident that left him with his first DNF of the year. “Then, when I arrived in the box and I saw the situation on the video, I understood. It was completely a race incident because, on that part of the track, we go so fast, Miller was in front, I was behind Miller and the slipstream from Miller, because we arrived at 300kmh… I braked and I braked a bit late, I tried to stop more, then I felt the contact because Zarco got the slipstream from two bikes. For me it’s a race
“There is one rider that is faster than everyone: Iannone”
“Everybody is really fast so, tomorrow, in Warm Up the top riders will improve a little bit. We’ll be there, we’ll try to improve but we’ll be arriving on the limit. The most important thing is to control the tyres during the race because the last five laps are really important, so we have to arrive with the tyre in good condition. There’ll be a good battle with Marc, Viñales, Rins will stay with us, so, in any case, it’ll be a strong race but I’m a little bit stronger.” Source link
In form Crutchlow predicting a “10 rider” Island battle
A second place finish in Japan - his third rostrum of the season – sees the Briton heading into the Australian GP in good form. But, according to Crutchlow, there are 10 riders who can challenge for the win: “I think this place is one of the favourite circuits for all of us riders, and that means there are ten people with a realistic chance of taking victory here this weekend, including ourselves. The only problem with that is that after winning the MotoGP World Championship in Japan, Marc Marquez has nothing to lose.” Source link
Syahrin secures second top ten of 2018 in Japan
“Anyway, thank you to my team because we are really working hard to be in the top group, for example in Buriram race we are fighting really well in front of Franco,” explained the Yamaha rider, who admitted that he thought his Honda counterpart was further behind him: “But this time I thought Franco was 14 or something like this and I was 10, maybe we can gain something like this, gain some points, but we gain just one point in front of him but its ok. At least we were in front of him, we keep pushing and taking the challenge to him.” Source link
Magnificent 7: a Champion's profile
Mugello was a shake up, however. The Italian classic was a race to remember for Ducati as they took their first 1-2 at the venue – and it was Lorenzo on the top step for the first time in red. Winning by a sizeable margin, there was a new big threat to Marquez’ mission on the scene, and the Majorcan followed it up with the same, ‘Lorenzo-style’ victory the following race weekend in Barcelona. Marquez was second, however, and did some good damage limitation – with the next race set for the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. Source link
