Marquez: “Very long day!”

Marc Marquez (P4): “It has been a very long test day, because when the bikes are new, it takes a lot of time to make changes and get back out on track. We only did one stint with the bike we used in the Grand Prix, to see what condition the track was in, and then we started to work on the new bike. As a rider, it's a bit boring because I had to wait a long time in the garage because with everything being new the engineers have to adjust a lot of things along the way, but finally we were able to try several solutions. Let's see if tomorrow we can continue improving and make the most

Lorenzo: “Best start possible: first and first!”

Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo began his final weekend with the Yamaha Factory team in the best way possible: fastest in both the morning and afternoon sessions. Happy with the Michelin tyres brought to the venue and satisfied after a good day’s work, the ‘Spartan’ is aiming high for the top step in his final race with the team, and on home turf – the venue one on which the Spaniard has taken wins in 2010, 2013 and 2015. Classics: the best of Valencia

2013 – The first year Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) raced in the premier class was an incredible one. Arriving in Valencia as leader by 13 points, the rookie of the year had his chance at making history – with reigning Champion Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) the man left to stand in his way. The season was a rollercoaster of incredible races and shocking twists: Marquez was black flagged at Phillip Island, Rossi came back to Yamaha, both Pedrosa and Lorenzo broke collarbones, the latter twice - but it was Lorenzo left in the title fight by the last showdown of the year: the reigning Champion vs the rookie… Source link

Smith’s return from injury “much better” than expected

Bradley Smith (P14): "I have to start by saying that the three back to back races have been fantastic and I am more than satisfied with the results. To come back from my injury and score three point scoring finishes is much better than what I was expecting. If we look at the bigger picture, the Monster Yamaha Tech3 team did a superb job as well as the Clinica Mobile medical staff who made sure that I could compete in every session. In terms of the race, it certainly was tough due to the conditions but we have to be content with another finish in the points, even if we were hoping for more. I decided to risk using the

Kornfeil: career best result at home for SIC Racing Team

After high rates of attrition at Phillip Island, the Moto3™ race in Malaysia proved no different – despite the lightweight class having the only race of the day in mostly dry conditions, on slicks. With a crash for no less than four of the initial front group at Turn 7 in the early stages, it was an “in it to win it” – with Jakub Kornfeil (Drive M7 SIC Racing Team) emerging behind eventual winner Francesco Bagnaia (Pull&Bear Aspar Mahindra) to battle Bo Bendsneyder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) over P2.
