Rossi: “We don‘t have the feeling or enough confidence”

It’s rare to see Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) outside the top ten; it’s even rarer to see all four of the Yamaha riders outside of the top ten. The GoPro Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland got off to a difficult start, a damp and cold track resulting in a terrible first day for Yamaha. Free Practice 1 was cut short by spots of rain, Rossi electing to remain in the pits rather than go back out in the wet. The second session of the day began in similar circumstances, Rossi not waiting around this time. Despite improving his FP1 time by 0.757s, ‘The Doctor’ concluded Friday in 14th overall....

MotoGP™ stars select competitors for Dani Rivas Cup

Each rider got to complete three track sessions, with the jury judging them on their age, experience, fastest lap from each session, and their fastest lap from the day. After careful deliberation the judges informed each of the 15 successful riders personally that would compete in the 2016 Dani Rivas Cup, a competition designed to be a stepping stone for the young riders to achieve their dream of competing in the Moto3™ World Championship. More importantly it was a memorable weekend for the children – and not just the ones that were successfully selected – as they got to meet their MotoGP™ idols....

Michelin aiming to be lords of the ‘Ring’

Situated in eastern Germany, approximately 100km from Dresden, Sachsenring was once a circuit that held its races on closed public roads, similar to Assen, Brno and the Isle of Man, but since 1996 racing has taken place on a purpose built track near the town of Hohenstein-Ernstthal, where  It has staged a motorcycle Grand Prix every year since 1998. Steeped in history, the area was once the focal point of Germany’s automotive industry and the manufacturers would race their machines around the streets. This history, combined with the party atmosphere throughout the whole weekend, makes Sachsenring a rich cocktail of octane fuelled excitement that motorcycle race fans adore....

Bulega Feature Interview: “We’re ready to charge in Germany”

Second place in Jerez has been your best result so far in your debut season, what do you remember about the spectacular move you made? Will we see you again on the podium soon?“It was a great weekend for me and the whole team, to get to the fourth race and as a rookie take pole and a podium is amazing. A great achievement for me, my family and the VR46 Academy. Without their support I would never have arrived in the World Championship. Binder was really strong, to start from the back and win is incredible. I was fighting with Bagnaia and Navarro for the podium on the last lap and I gave everything.

Marquez Blog: A high-paced week

The rest of the time I’ve been in Cervera, cycling with my brother and doing some BMX, which I enjoy from time to time. I was also able to spend time with my friend José Luis. He usually organises the campus summers for children who’d like to become Motocross riders. The pool of young talent in Spain is really quite impressive....

Yamaha VR46 Master Camp riders hit the track

Soichiro Minamimoto (Japan): “I learned the basic techniques today and at the end of the session I was able to run the overall corner and control the tyre slide, which I really enjoyed. It was the first time that I rode a YZ250F, but it was very good. I wanted to go fast at the beginning, because it’s easy to jump to a conclusion, but Mr. Marco Belli said to us that it’s important to think ahead and I understood what he said very much.”...

Dalla Porta, Odendaal and Morales earn poles in Albacete

Carmelo Morales will set off chasing his sixth win in Albacete, which would make him the rider with the most victories in Superbike in Albacete since 2002; other riders on five victories are Iván Silva, Xavier Forés and José David De Gea. Last year the current Superbike European Championship champion won one of the two races while in the other the winner was Iván Silva. This year, two races will also be run, with Maximilian Scheib defending his lead, just six points ahead of Morales who is currently on a run of three victories....
