The Celtics received some much-needed good news Sunday afternoon. After Boston blew a 28-point lead to lose to the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night at TD Garden, it feared Kyrie Irving also might miss an extended period of time. The star guard suffered a right knee sprain in the second quarter of Saturday’s loss. Head coach Brad Stevens said he “didn’t know anything about it” after the loss. But now we have a little more insight to just how serious (or not) the injury to Irving really is.

BOSTON — After blowing a colossal lead in a gut-busting loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night, the Celtics continued to give fans heart palpitations Saturday night against LA’s other team — the Clippers. The C’s saw a 28-point first-half lead disappear, and ultimately fell 123-112 at TD Garden. To add on, the Celtics lost Kyrie Irving for the second half because of a right knee strain. He finished with 14 points. Gordon Hayward led the Celtics with 19 points. Montrezl Harrell had 21 while Danilo Galinari had 19 for the Clippers. The Celtics move to 35-21 with the loss, while the Clippers climb to 31-26 with the with.
Patriots’ Patrick Chung Shares Positive Update After Undergoing Surgery
It hasn’t been all partying for one Patriot in the week after New England’s Super Bowl LIII victory. Patrick Chung had some business to take care of following his team’s win over the Los Angeles Rams at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The veteran safety sustained a broken forearm early in the third quarter and was forced to watch the bulk of the second half on the sidelines. Chung, who also will undergo a procedure on his shoulder later this offseason, went through surgery Thursday to repair his forearm. And judging from his latest Instagram post, it sounds like everything went well.
