With the game tied in the second period and the Detroit Red Wings threatening, Zdeno Chara came up with a huge save for the Boston Bruins in their 3-1 win at TD Garden on Saturday. Off a shot in front of the net, the puck slowly trickled past goaltender Tuukka Rask, and Chara, who was at the top of the crease, saw the puck and swatted it away before it could cross the goal line. After the Boston Celtics forward suffered a gruesome leg/ankle injury in the season opener, he has made tremendous progress in his rehab, and it seems as though it’s because he is getting round-the-clock care. The New York Yankees want to add another starting pitcher, even after re-signing CC Sabathia to a one-year deal. The Bronx Bombers appear intent on leaving no stone left unturned in that pursuit, as the Yankees apparently are one of a few teams with interest in free agent right-hander Yu Darvish, according to The Athletic. It has been quite a while since Anton Khudobin has recorded a shutout in an NHL game, but he snapped the years-long drought on Tuesday night as he turned away 36 shots for the Boston Bruins in their 3-0 win over the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center.
