Patriots Fill Active Roster By Signing Kevin Snyder From Practice Squad

FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots filled their active roster by signing linebacker Kevin Snyder off the practice squad, according to a source. The Providence Journal’s Mark Daniels first reported the news. The Rutgers product signed to the Patriots’ practice squad last month. Snyder was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Detroit Lions in May. He was on the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad earlier this season. The 6-foot-2, 240-pounder ran a 4.58-second 40-yard dash at his pro day in March with a 7.09-second 3-cone drill, 4.31-second short shuttle, 35-inch vertical leap and 9-foot, 9-inch broad jump. The Patriots opened...

Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski’s Tweet At Broncos ‘Just All Fun And Games’

FOXBORO, Mass. — New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski said Thursday he was just having fun with the tweet he posted Tuesday in response to the Denver Broncos saying the best way to tackle him is going low. He wasn’t surprised with the attention it drew, though. “No, I was just having a little fun with it, hoping to get a little laughs, which I think it did,” Gronkowski said before practice at Gillette Stadium. “It’s just all fun and games with that.” Here’s the NSFW-ish tweet in question. Gronkowski also was asked if he feels the Broncos have been taunting him with some of the things they have said in the medi...

Bills’ Kathryn Smith Becomes NFL’s First Full-Time Female Assistant Coach

The Buffalo Bills and Kathryn Smith made history Wednesday night. The Bills hired Smith as their special teams quality control coach, making her the first full-time female coach in NFL history. “Kathryn Smith has done an outstanding job in the seven years that she has worked with our staff,” Bills head coach Rex Ryan said in a statement. “She certainly deserves this promotion based on her knowledge and strong commitment, just to name a couple of her outstanding qualities, and I just know she’s going to do a great job serving in the role of Quality Control-Special Teams.” “Kathryn has been working in a football administrative role an...

Tom Brady, Gisele Catch Son Ben’s Hockey Game Over Broncos-Steelers (Photo)

Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, blah, blah, blah. Who cares? New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wasn’t very concerned Sunday with the outcome of the second AFC Divisional Playoff clash between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos. Instead, he took some time to get away from football and go enjoy his son Ben’s hockey game with wife Gisele Bundchen. The photographer who took the photo for TMZ Sports said it was taken at approximately 7:15 p.m. — aka right when the Broncos-Steelers game was wrapping up. It’s alright, Tom. You didn’t really miss much, anyway. Manning and the Broncos won a snoozer 23-16. Thumbna...

Australian Open 2016: Day 2 Men’s Results, Highlights, First-Round Scores

The first round of the 2016 Australian Open ended Tuesday, and one of the best players in the world went home early. Rafael Nadal, a 14-time Grand Slam champion, was upset in five sets by Fernando Verdasco. It’s only the second time Nadal has been upset in Round 1 of a major tournament. There were no other significant upsets Tuesday. All four semifinalists from last year — Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Tomas Berdych and Stan Wawrinka — won their first round matchups. Other notable stars such as Roger Federer and David Ferrer also are through to the next round. Australian Lleyton Hewitt won his first-round matchup in straight sets, much to ...

Aqib Talib: Tom Brady Is Toughest Quarterback To Face In Playoffs

Aqib Talib hasn’t lost any respect for his former quarterback since joining the Denver Broncos. The former Patriots cornerback helped his team earn a 23-16 win Sunday over the Pittsburgh Steelers in their AFC Divisional Playoff, giving the Broncos a chance to host New England in Denver for the AFC Championship Game. And Talib knows his next task won’t be easy. Because even though the Steelers’ Ben Roethlisberger is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, Talib told NFL Network’s James Palmer that Tom Brady is better. Much better. Roethlisberger didn’t throw into the end zone Sunday, but he did manage to amass 339 yards on 24-of-37 pa...
