Koji Uehara Not Concerned About Shaky Start To Red Sox Spring Training

Koji Uehara recently looked very sharp during live batting practice on the back fields at JetBlue Park. The Boston Red Sox closer’s crispness didn’t spill over into his first spring training appearance. Uehara surrendered two doubles, a single and a run Friday as the Red Sox lost to the Miami Marlins 5-3 in Grapefruit League action at JetBlue Park. It was a shaky first outing for Uehara, who will be monitored closely throughout the season, but the right-hander wasn’t too concerned about the poor results. “I’m not even looking at my location or anything. I’m just trying to get my innings in,” Uehara told reporters in Fort Mye...

Marcus Mariota Destroys Jameis Winston In 40-Yard Dash At NFL Combine (Video)

The debate over who is the better quarterback lives on. As for who’s faster? It’s safe to say that got settled Saturday. Oregon’s Marcus Mariota and Florida State’s Jameis Winston headlined day four of the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine, as the two are expected to be among the first players off the board in the NFL draft. Both Mariota and Winston performed capably in throwing drills, but when they toed the line for the 40-yard dash, the Duck left the Seminole in the dust. In case this video of the two sprints superimposed on each other didn’t clear it up for you, Mariota is a heck of a lot faster than Winston. In fact, the

Bob Knight Screams At Fans Blocking His View During Live Broadcast (Video)

If you’re not an avid fan of the American Athletic Conference, Thursday nights and ESPN2, you might wonder what Bob Knight is up to these days. The mercurial college basketball coaching legend continues to do analyst work for ESPN, but he’s been removed from the spotlight in recent years. Now, his work is pretty much limited to doing AAC games once a week, according to Yahoo! Sports. He was in Dallas on Thursday night for Temple vs. SMU, which was relatively unspectacular for the most part. That was, of course, until some bros decided to stand in front of Knight and block his view. The results, on live TV, were fantastic. Thu...

LFC’s Adam Lallana Misses Open Goal Vs. Besiktas In Europa League (Video)

Adam Lallana appeared to leaving his shooting cleats at home. Lallana missed the easiest of scoring chances Thursday in the second half of Liverpool’s UEFA Europa League round of 32 game Thursday. A mix-up between goalkeeper Cenk Gonen and defender Pedro Franco gifted Lallana an opportunity to score in the 49th minute, but the Liverpool midfielder inexplicably shot over the crossbar from just six yards out. Many believed Lallana is nearing his best form, given his performances in the Reds’ last two games. He set up Mario Balotelli’s game-winning goal in Liverpool’s win over Tottenham on Feb. 10 and scored the game-winner himself in t...

Ex-Giants QB Jared Lorenzen Burns Jameis Winston With ‘Fat Tuesday’ Joke

Former New York Giants quarterback Jared Lorenzen certainly knows how to celebrate Fat Tuesday. The 320-pound signal-caller — who now plays in the Continental Indoor Football League for the Northern Kentucky River Monsters — took to Twitter to make a Mardi Gras-themed joke about Jameis Winston’s possible weight gain. Winston’s private quarterback coach George Whitfield assured the world Sunday that the photo of Winston is a month old and that he’s still in great shape. But even if Winston did pack on a few pounds before Friday’s NFL Scouting Combine, Hefty Lefty is living proof that the former Heisman Trophy winner could still have a care...
