Peyton Manning Throws Pick Six To Seal Broncos’ Fate Vs. Bengals (GIF)

A quarterback threw a crucial interception in Monday night’s game, but it wasn’t Andy Dalton. With the Denver Broncos trailing by two points late in the fourth quarter, Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick intercepted Peyton Manning’s pass intended for Demaryius Thomas and scampered 30 yards into the end zone for a back-breaking touchdown. Manning’s interception — the third of four picks he threw in the game — couldn’t have come at a worse time for Denver, as it extended Cincinnati’s lead to nine points with less than three minutes remaining. Kirkpatrick intercepted Manning again with under two minutes to play, sealing the Bengals’ 37-28 win and guaranteeing them a playoff spot. The Broncos’ loss gave the

Bruins’ Loui Eriksson Should Remain On Line With Carl Soderberg, Chris Kelly

BOSTON — Loui Eriksson was the top candidate to replace Jarome Iginla at right wing on the Bruins’ first line to start the season, but that plan was put on hold when veteran center David Krejci was forced to miss 20 of the first 31 games because of an injury. Even though Eriksson has played well in the limited time he’s skated alongside Krejci and Milan Lucic since joining the Bruins before the 2013-14 campaign, the best place for him is with Carl Soderberg and Chris Kelly on the third line. Soderberg and Kelly have been Eriksson’s linemates for most of the season, and it’s obvious that they have developed impressive chemistry, specifically Soderberg and Eriksson. As

Dont’a Hightower, Danny Amendola Among Patriots’ Stars In Win Over Jets

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The New England Patriots proved one thing Sunday: They can win ugly. Playing one of the worst teams in the NFL, the Patriots beat the New York Jets just 17-16 as they had trouble moving the ball on offense and stopping the Jets’ rushing attack. The Patriots’ offensive line allowed four sacks to the Jets as quarterback Tom Brady was getting beat up all game. With all the negatives out of the way, here are this week’s stars of the game: DANNY AMENDOLAAmendola didn’t replace Julian Edelman, who was out with a concussion, but he filled in admirably as the Patriots’ slot/Z receiver. Amendola caught eight passes on 11 targets for 63 yards. He

Reports: Justin Upton Traded To Padres; Braves Acquiring Prospects

The San Diego Padres are stocking up on outfielders. The Padres have agreed to a trade with the Atlanta Braves for outfielder Justin Upton, according to multiple reports. San Diego already acquired outfielders Matt Kemp and Wil Myers this week before landing Upton. The Braves will acquire left-hander Max Fried, second baseman Jace Peterson, third baseman Dustin Peterson and outfielder Mallex Smith, according to CBSSports.com’s Jon Heyman. The Padres reportedly will acquire a lower-level prospect in addition to Upton. The Padres entered this offseason in need of some offensive firepower, particularly in the outfield. Now, they have a surplus of outfielders, creating the potential for even more moves this winter. Upton, who was

Browns’ Andrew Hawkins: ‘A Call For Justice Shouldn’t Warrant An Apology’

Andrew Hawkins wore a T-shirt in an effort to make a statement Sunday, but his strongest statement might have come a day later. Gathering reporters around his locker Monday, the Cleveland Browns wide receiver explained his decision to wear a shirt that read “Justice for Tamir Rice and John Crawford” before Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hawkins’ small protest drew criticism from the Cleveland Police Union, which demanded an apology and called it “pretty pathetic when athletes think they know the law.” Hawkins responded to the police union and other critics of his gesture with a long statement, reportedly without notes. “I was taught that justice was a right that every American should

Dez Bryant, Malcolm Jenkins Go At It Before Cowboys-Eagles Game (Video)

In case you haven’t heard, Cowboys-Eagles is a pretty big rivalry. Add Dez Bryant’s refusal to back down from any fight whatsoever, and you’ve got yourself a pregame confrontation. During warmups before Sunday night’s NFC East showdown between Dallas and Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field, Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins had a few words for Bryant near midfield. The Cowboys wide receiver didn’t take kindly to these words, and the two spent the next several minutes saying mean things to each other that we probably can’t repeat on this website. The jawing went on for so long, in fact, that teammates from both sides had to separate Jenkins and Bryant several times, presumably to remind them that

Pawtucket Red Sox Logos, Uniforms Get New Look For 2015 Season (Photos)

The Pawtucket Red Sox will be looking sharp next season. The Boston Red Sox’s Triple-A affiliate rolled out all new logos and uniforms Friday, and they’re quite different from the ones they used to sport, which essentially mirrored their parent club. The PawSox added some powder blue to the mix of the usual red, navy and white and put an emphasis on the “paw” part of their name. The biggest change probably was to mascot Paws, who got a more realistic — and ferocious — look. Photo of the Night In Greece, a goat invaded a soccer match and tried to play goalkeeper. Tweet
