The Chicago Housing Authority’s board chairman is stepping down after finishing his four-year time period, the company introduced Wednesday.
“My term is up, and my time is up,” Chairman John T. Hooker mentioned throughout a board of commissioners assembly Tuesday. “This was my decision alone. I want to thank my fellow commissioners, the CHA staff and residents — and everyone with whom I have worked — for the opportunity to serve this great agency, the CHA residents and the people of Chicago.”
Hooker, 52, mentioned his proudest achievements embrace delivering 2,000 reasonably priced housing items throughout town, and investments in parks, recreation facilities and grocery shops.
“I want to thank John Hooker for his years of service to CHA and the people of Chicago,” Mayor Lori Lightfoot mentioned in an announcement. “I commend him and wish him well on this next chapter of his life.”
Craig Chico, the board’s vice chairman, is about to take over Hooker’s position till a brand new chairman is appointed, the company mentioned.
