Daycare employee Kimberly Underwood killed by stray bullet in


A daycare employee was killed in a taking pictures Wednesday as she was arriving to her dwelling in Altgeld Gardens on the Far South Side.

About 10:26 p.m., Kimberly Underwood, 53, was pulling into quite a bit close to her dwelling within the 1000 block of East 133rd Street when pictures rang out, Chicago police and the Cook County medical expert’s workplace mentioned.

Underwood was struck within the face and pronounced lifeless on the scene, police mentioned.

Underwood’s cousin, Jesse Underwood, mentioned that Kimberly Underwood labored at a daycare. According to Jesse Underwood, Kimberly Underwood was caught within the crossfire of no less than two close by shooters.

Kimberly Underwood had two daughters and a son, in addition to 11 grandchildren, Jesse Underwood mentioned.

“She’ll be truly missed, its unbelievable, its hitting too many families,” Jesse Underwood mentioned. “You can’t even pull into your own parking lot.”

No arrests have been reported. Area South detectives are investigating.
