DePaul pupil robbed at knifepoint on Lincoln Park campus


A DePaul pupil was robbed at knifepoint Friday on the college’s Lincoln Park campus.

The pupil, a 19-year-old man, was robbed about 7:30 p.m. after leaving a espresso store with the suspect within the 2300 block of North Sheffield Avenue, Chicago police stated. The pair had met there beforehand the week earlier than, police stated.

The suspect pulled a knife on the person in an alleyway behind the college’s Arts and Letters Hall, 2315 N. Kenmore Ave., based on an e-mail from DePaul Public Safety.

He took an unknown sum of money earlier than fleeing in an older, dark-colored sedan, police stated.

The suspect was described as a 5-foot-8, 150-pound man in his late teenagers or early 20s with brown eyes and brief, black hair, police stated.

No one was injured within the theft, police stated.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
