Chicago’s well-known Gene & Georgetti restaurant in River North has been shut down till additional discover after a grease fireplace early Saturday.
The homeowners of the family-run River North steakhouse, which was opened in 1941, introduced the closure in an announcement Saturday morning.
No one was injured within the blaze, based on restaurant homeowners Tony, Marion and Michelle Durpetti.
“We wanted to let you know that we did have a grease fire here early this morning but thanks to the wonderful engine 42 firefighters and emergency responders in our beloved 18th district we had no injuries and no grave damage,” they wrote.
The restaurant’s Rosemont location remains to be open for enterprise, the household mentioned.
The household mentioned they hope to reopen their River North location quickly.
