Lake Shore Drive ramp to shut for in a single day Navy Pier

A Lake Shore Drive ramp in Streeterville might be closed for in a single day work on the Navy Pier Flyover mission.

The ramp from northbound Lake Shore to Illinois Street might be closed from 12:01 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday to put in new metal beams for the flyover, in response to a press release from the Chicago Department of Transportation.

During the closure, northbound drivers wishing to succeed in Illinois might be rerouted by way of Randolph Street and Lower Lake Shore, CDOT mentioned.

Construction on the flyover, which is able to carry pedestrian and bike visitors on the Lakefront Trail over Illinois Street and Grand Avenue, began in 2014 after years of planning. The mission has been criticized for taking longer to finish than the Golden Gate Bridge.

A bit of the flyover opened in December 2018.
