Loop high-rise fireplace on Wabash blazes early Thursday


About 200 firefighters spoke back to a blaze at the 10th flooring of a high-rise early Thursday on Jewelers Row within the Loop.

Firefighters were given the decision at 3:53 a.m. for a hearth within the first block of South Wabash Avenue, Deputy District Chief Frank Velez mentioned. Firefighters had been at the scene inside of 5 – 6 mins and extinguished the hearth temporarily, Velez mentioned.

Two firefighters had been transported to a health facility as a result of warmth exhaustion, and their prerequisites had been stabilized, Velez mentioned.

The 10th flooring properties companies, in line with the deputy leader. No different accidents had been reported.

Officials are investigating the reason for the hearth.
