Police are trying to find a person who allegedly carjacked a girl Tuesday within the drive-thru of a Portillo’s restaurant in northwest suburban Harwood Heights.
The man approached the driving force about 11:45 p.m. at a Portillo’s within the 7300 block of Lawrence Avenue and advised her she had a nail in her rear tire, Harwood Heights police stated.
As the 63-year-old lady exited her car, the suspect ran across the received into the driving force’s seat, police stated. The lady ran to the driving force’s aspect and yelled at him to get out. The man pushed her away, inflicting her to fall to the bottom.
The man drove off in her car, which was later discovered broken and deserted within the 7200 block of West Higgins Avenue, police stated. The suspect, who was between 30 and 40 years outdated, fled on foot.
