Man hit by truck in Melrose Park dies days later


A person died a number of days after he was hit by a truck final week in west suburban Melrose Park.

The 58-year-old was strolling within the median of Mannheim Road close to Armitage Avenue when the truck hit him about 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 25, based on Melrose Park police spokesman Andrew Mack. He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, the place he underwent surgical procedure.
