Murray’s Queen’s final hit by rain

Andy Murray’s bid for a third Queen’s Club title was delayed on Sunday as rain lashed the west London venue ahead of the final against defending champion Marin Cilic.

US Open champion Murray was due on court at 1130GMT after the final was brought forward from its original start time of 1300GMT in a bid to beat the predicted bad weather.

But the world No 2, who won the pre-Wimbledon warm-up event in 2009 and 2011, was forced to wait as the court covers were brought on when rain began to fall just minutes before the start of play.
