Donal O’Grady’s leaving is a surprise ahead of Limerick’s Munster championship opener against Limerick on 1 June

Donal O’Grady has quit as joint-manager of the Limerick senior hurling squad.

O’Grady’s second coming with Limerick was ratified last November when he, along with TJ Ryan, were named as joint managers.

Together they presided over an Allianz League campaign where the Shannonsiders failed to get promotion from Division 1B. They did, however, reach the quarter-final, where they lost out to Galway.

A report in Monday’s Irish Examiner states that a fall out with the county board is to blame for O’Grady’s departure.
