Jerez testing: teams on track in Andalusia

After the stunning first Grand Prix of the season in Qatar, a few of the premier class teams are now back on track in Andalusia for testing at the Circuito de Jerez. Dont’a Hightower Misses Third Straight Patriots Practice; Eric Rowe Also Absent

by Zack Cox on Fri, Sep 16, 2016 at 12:02PM 2,039 Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — It appears highly unlikely New England Patriots linebacker Dont’a Hightower will be healthy enough to play Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. Hightower, who suffered a knee injury in the Patriots’ Week 1 win over the Arizona Cardinals, missed his third consecutive practice Friday. The 26-year-old team captain has appeared in all 16 games just once in his four-year NFL career, and injuries limited him to 12 games in each of the last two seasons. Cornerback Eric Rowe also was absent after injuring his ankle during Thursday’s session. Every other Patriots player, including tight end Rob Gronkowski, who did not play against the Cardinals, was present at practice. Meireles absent for Fenerbahçe

Fenerbahçe SK midfielder Raul Meireles will miss both of his side's UEFA Europa League fixtures against AEL Limassol FC after suffering a thigh injury on international duty. The 29-year-old picked up the problem during Portugal's 1-0 FIFA World Cup qualifying loss in Russia on Friday and is out for a month. That means Meireles will not travel to Cyprus on 25 October or play in the home return a fortnight later as Fenerbahçe look to maintain their good start in Group C, where they have taken four points from two games.Available against AEL next week will be right-back Gökhan Gönül, who left the Turkey squad on Sunday with a thigh problem but is fit to play against Bursaspor this weekend.
