Share this: It isn’t uncommon for NBA superstars to leave in free agency. LeBron James left the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010 to join the Miami Heat, and Kevin Durant said sayonara to the Oklahoma City Thunder in favor of the Golden State Warriors following the 2016 NBA playoffs. However, Durant’s new teammate and reigning two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry doesn’t plan on joining that fraternity. The star point guard is eligible to be a free agent in July but isn’t contemplating leaving the Warriors, according to Tim Kawakami of The Mercury News. “Like I’ve said from Day 1 when I was first asked about free agency, this is a perfect place to play,” Curry told Kawakami. “Bay Area fans are amazing, our organization’s amazing, we’ve put

Shirts Saying Kevin ‘Durant Is A B—-‘ Being Sold Outside TD Garden
Share this: Friday night will mark the first game Kevin Durant has played in Boston since signing with the Golden State Warriors. And if shirts being sold outside TD Garden are any indication, Celtics fans still are salty about Durant choosing the Warriors over the Celtics. The Celtics aggressively pursued the All-Star forward in free agency over the summer, but Durant opted to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder and move further west, and Celtics fans apparently still are holding a grudge. Fair or not, applause surely doesn’t await Durant and the rest of Warriors inside the TD Garden on Friday, which apparently doesn’t bother KD one bit. Kevin Durant Says He Doesn’t Plan On Re-Entering Free Agency Next Summer
by Zack Cox on Thu, Jul 7, 2016 at 5:39PM 2,019 The Golden State Warriors won the Kevin Durant sweepstakes earlier this week, beating out a slew of other suitors — including the Boston Celtics and Durant’s former team, the Oklahoma City Thunder — all hoping to sign the former NBA MVP. Durant’s contract with the Warriors reportedly is a two-year deal with a second-year player option, meaning we very well could see the 27-year-old superstar hit free agency again next summer. Speaking...
NBA Free Agency Rumors: Joakim Noah Likely Will Sign With Knicks For $18M Per Year
The New York Bulls, ahem, we mean Knicks, are making some big moves. The Knicks likely will sign Chicago Bulls center and soon-to-be free agent Joakim Noah to a deal worth around $ 18 million per year, sources told The Washington Post’s Tim Bontemps late Wednesday night. The projected length of the deal and exact dollar amounts have not been reported. While free agency doesn’t officially begin until Friday, other NBA teams also appear to believe Noah will join former teammate Derrick Rose in New York. Noah only played in 29 games last season due to injuries. He averaged 4.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game during his shortened 2015-16...
NHL Free Agency Rumors: Eric Staal Drawing Interest From ‘3 Or 4 Teams’
Eric Staal is one of the better free agent centers available to sign July 1. He’s a tier below Steven Stamkos, of course, but the former Stanley Cup champ still would be a nice addition to a contending team. Sportsnet’s John Shannon reported Tuesday the amount of teams showing interest in Staal and where his expectations are at. Staal tallied 39 points (13 goals, 26 assists) in 83 games between the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Rangers last season, and he drove puck possession well with a 55.83 Corsi For percentage at even strength. He’d be a good second-line center for a team lacking depth and skill down the middle. Staal also could
NBA Free Agency: DeMar DeRozan Wants To Stay In Toronto, Not Leave For L.A.
Rumors have floated for over a year that Toronto Raptors franchise cornerstone DeMar DeRozan was patiently waiting for free agency so he could bolt home to Los Angeles. DeRozan, now a two-time All-Star, is expected to decline a $ 9.5 million player option he holds for next season. He very well could court a max contract from someone, even if it’s not the Raptors. But the 26-year-old, who never has been on record regarding leaving for L.A., is putting those rumors to rest. But even if it’s not L.A., is there a better spot for him besides Toronto? “I don’t th...
Rajon Rondo Looking For ‘Last Stop’ With Next Contract In Free Agency
Rajon Rondo is done being a nomad. Rondo will hit free agency again this summer after spending the 2015-16 season with the Sacramento Kings. The 30-year-old isn’t sure where he’ll land, but it’s clear he wants to settle down upon signing his next contract. “I want to make this — whatever I do — my last stop,” Rondo told the New York Post on Sunday. Rondo spent his first eight-plus seasons with the Boston Celtics, who traded the four-time All-Star to the Dallas Mavericks in December 2014. The polarizing point guard hit the open market last offseason after finishing his 2014-15 campaign with the Mavs, but...
