Patriots Fans Told Rob Gronkowski To Party At Super Bowl Parade, So He Did

According to Gronk, that’s what Pats fans would have seen Tuesday if he’d had his way. The Patriots tight end said in an interview during the parade that wasn’t planning on partying hard to celebrate New England’s Super Bowl LI victory. But fans begged him to, so… “The fans were asking for it, and I’m giving the fans what they wanted to get.” Indeed he was. Here’s a shot of Gronkowski snaring a beer out of midair with one hand, taking a long swig and spiking it on the groud from atop his duckboat: Gronkowski later took the mic at the team’s

FIFA To Expand World Cup, Radically Change Format Starting In 2026

The world’s biggest sporting event will grow even larger in the future. FIFA announced on its website Tuesday it has voted to expand the FIFA World Cup finals from 32 teams to 48 starting in 2026. The FIFA Council decided to expand the World Cup by unanimous decision. In the new format, the 48 teams will split into 16 groups of three. The top two teams in each group will then advance to a 32-team knockout phase. FIFA will continue to stage the tournament over 32 days, and no team will play more than seven games, as is the current practice. The news comes as no surprise to most, as World Cup expansion was one

Texans Owner Backs ‘Gutsy’ Call To Bench Brock Osweiler For Tom Savage

Share this: A quarterback change won’t generate controversy in the owner’s box at NRG Stadium. Houston Texans owner Bob McNair praised head coach Bill O’Brien on Sunday for benching struggling quarterback Brock Osweiler, according to The Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson. Backup Tom Savage led the Texans to a comeback 21-20 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, and McNair said the quarterback switch was the right move. “I’m just glad I wasn’t the one that had to make that decision,” McNair said. “I mean, that was a gutsy call. Give coach credit, he made a change and it was for the good of the team. We benefited from it. Now we have three good quarterbacks and we are proud of all of them.” McNair’s Texans gave Osweiler

Joe Namath Kissing Retiring Verne Lundquist Was Highlight Of Iron Bowl

Share this: The Iron Bowl was far from an instant classic like Michigan-Ohio State was, but it still provided us with at least one memorable moment. During No. 1 Alabama’s 30-12 thumping of No. 13 Auburn, Crimson Tide legend Joe Namath visited the CBS broadcast booth to wish Verne Lundquist well before his retirement at the end of the season. And, of course, a Namath appearance wouldn’t be complete without wearing a fur coat and trying to kiss an announcer. Namath also tweeted out a message for Lundquist before his visit to the broadcast booth. Also just wanna thank Verne Lundquist for being the kinda guy he is and the great job he's done for so many sports fans for so many years. — Joe Namath (@RealJoeNamath)

Lüthi: “I knew that Morbidelli was reading me…”

Tom Lüthi (P1): "One of the TV journalists asked me on the grid if it is true that I had never won two races in a row and I obviously responded: "That is why I am here!" We tested different set-ups in the morning's warm-up but it did not work; I was far off and on the limit. We stepped back to what we had yesterday during the couple of minutes when the track was dry and it was great. My start was really good, I tried to get away, maintaining my pace but Pasini and then Morbidelli managed to stay with me. Each time I crossed the line I saw that the gap was very small, 1 tenth, 1

How Nick Foles’ Release Just Made Ryan Fitzpatrick A Nice Chunk Of Change

Share this: Nick Foles might be the dumbest man in American, but at least one other NFL quarterback should be thanking him for it. Foles, the Los Angeles Rams quarterback, reportedly was released by the team Wednesday at his request. The 27-year-old was set to make up to $8.75 million this season, per Spotrac, but has been upset since the team selected quarterback Jared Goff with the No. 1 overall selection in the NFL draft earlier this year. Apparently getting paid nearly $9 million to live in L.A. — where it’s 75 and sunny all the time — for a year just wasn’t good enough for the now ex-Ram. Meanwhile, ESPN’s Ed Werder dropped this little nugget regarding the ripple effect Foles’ situation had
