Kenley Jansen Blasts Dodgers Fans For Not Voting Players To All-Star Game

Kenley Jansen Blasts Dodgers Fans For Not Voting Players To All-Star Game

The Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the best teams in Major League Baseball, but they won’t have any starters on the field for the 2017 All-Star Game. And Kenley Jansen has something to say to Dodgers fans about that. The Los Angeles closer will be at the All-Star Game in Miami on July 11, along with starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw, shortstop Corey Seager and outfielder/first baseman Cody Bellinger. Third baseman Justin Turner and starter Alex Wood also could make the team as injury replacements, but Jansen is pretty ticked off that none of them will be starting. “I’ll say it loud and clear again: It’s the Dodger fans’ fault,” Jansen said, p... Are Cubs Stealing Dodgers’ Signs In NLCS? Yasmani Grandal Thinks So

The 2016 National League Championship Series between the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers already was intriguing. And now, it appears there’s some gamesmanship going on. Dodgers catcher Yasmani Grandal said following Los Angeles’ 1-0 win in Game 2 of the NLCS on Sunday that his team knows the Cubs have been stealing signs. It wasn’t an issue in Game 2, as only one Cubs baserunner reached second base, but there apparently were points in Game 1 — like in the eighth inning when Addison Russell worked a 3-0 count against Joe Blanton with Ben Zobrist on second base — where Grandal was aware that something was up. “All the sudden, Russell is

Vin Scully, Dodgers Honor David Ortiz With Touching Video Tribute

Share this: David Ortiz already has received plenty of recognition from various Major League Baseball teams during his final season, but the club he visited Friday has something no one else has: Vin Scully. The legendary Los Angeles Dodgers announcer took the reins when Ortiz and the Boston Red Sox came to town for a three-game series, honoring the slugger with an awesome video tribute that recalled Ortiz’s childhood in the Dominican Republic and his contributions to the Red Sox. Ortiz also was joined on the field by former teammates Nomar Garciaparra, Adrian Gonzalez and Dave Roberts, who presented him with a $10,000 check to the David Ortiz Children’s Fund. It’s going to be hard for other teams to top that without Scully’s voice. Thumbnail photo

Dustin Pedroia Fouls Ball Off Ankle, Exits Red-Sox Dodgers With Injury

Share this: Dustin Pedroia suffered a pretty painful, self-inflicted injury Friday night. The Boston Red Sox second baseman was batting against Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Scott Kazmir in the top of the third inning at Dodger Stadium when he fouled a 2-2 offering hard off his left ankle. Pedroia fell to the ground in pain, as manager John Farrell and the Red Sox’s training staff immediately came out to check on him. Pedroia finished the at-bat but clearly was hurting, as the usually hard-running veteran jogged slowly down the line after grounding out to second base and walked gingerly back to the dugout. His night ended with that play, as Travis Shaw entered the game in his spot and moved to third base, with Aaron Hill

The Dodgers Just Raised The Bar On David Ortiz Farewell Ceremonies

Few teams have seen less of David Ortiz throughout his career than the Los Angeles Dodgers. But that didn’t stop the club from giving him a very special farewell ceremony Friday. The Dodgers brought surrounded the Boston Red Sox slugger with some old friends ahead of the teams’ three-game series, which will mark Ortiz’s final appearance at Dodger Stadium. Joining Big Papi on the field before the game were Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and Dodgers TV color commentator Nomar Garciaparra — all of whom spent time as Ortiz’s teammates in Boston. The ceremony was narrated by legendary Dodgers play-by-play... NESN.com

MLB Rumors: Jay Bruce Could Be Traded To Dodgers In Blockbuster Three-Team Deal

Share this: If it feels like Jay Bruce has been on the trade market forever, it’s because he has been. The never-ending “will the Reds trade Bruce?” chatter might finally be coming to a close, however. Cincinnati’s All-Star outfielder is drawing interest from several contenders as Monday’s non-waiver trade deadline approaches. Chief among those teams: The Los Angeles Dodgers. L.A. has been looking for a reason to move on from Yasiel Puig, and it seems adding Bruce — a left-handed power hitter — is as good a reason as any. Rumblings of a big 3-team extravaganza brewing with the Dodgers, Reds & a mystery team. Jay Bruce would land in LA when the dust settles — Jayson Stark (@jaysonst) July 29, 2016 But the Reds don’t
