The 21-year-old third baseman recorded his first major league hit, an RBI double, in just his second game since the Boston Red Sox called him up from Double-A Portland. Moncada also held his own on defense in his first big league start, though, and his throwing arm left an impression on fellow infielder Xander Bogaerts during Boston’s blowout win.
