by Zack Cox on Fri, Sep 16, 2016 at 12:02PM 2,039 Share this: FOXBORO, Mass. — It appears highly unlikely New England Patriots linebacker Dont’a Hightower will be healthy enough to play Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. Hightower, who suffered a knee injury in the Patriots’ Week 1 win over the Arizona Cardinals, missed his third consecutive practice Friday. The 26-year-old team captain has appeared in all 16 games just once in his four-year NFL career, and injuries limited him to 12 games in each of the last two seasons. Cornerback Eric Rowe also was absent after injuring his ankle during Thursday’s session. Every other Patriots player, including tight end Rob Gronkowski, who did not play against the Cardinals, was present at practice. Thumbnail photo via Stew Milne/USA TODAY Sports Images More

Hey David Ortiz, How Important Was That Red Sox Win? ‘It’s Pretty Big’
The Boston Red Sox overcame a three-run ninth-inning deficit to win one of the more exciting games of the season, 7-5, over the AL East rival New York Yankees. Hanley Ramirez finished the rally with a monstrous, three-run homer to send the Red Sox home with the walk-off win that might just be the September spark Boston needed. Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz was asked about the importance of the win after the game, as seen on NESN’s “Red Sox Final.” Check out what he had to say about it in the video above. Watch Hanley Ramirez Crush Walk-Off Homer In Red Sox Comeback Vs. Yankees
Share this: Now that’s how you win a ballgame. The Boston Red Sox entered the ninth inning of Thursday’s game against the New York Yankees trailing by three runs. They went home with a 7-5 win thanks to a monstrous walk-off blast off the bat of Hanley Ramirez with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. The win pushed the Yankees back five games in the AL East standings, which Boston leads, and spoiled a stellar start from New York starter Masahiro Tanaka, who went seven innings and allowed just one run on four hits for New York. Red Sox’s Struggles In One-Run Games A Cause For Concern, But Not Panic
Share this: BOSTON — The Red Sox have a very good team this season, as their perch atop the American League East can attest. But Boston’s 2016 squad appears to have an Achilles’ heel, and that weakness was exposed again Wednesday night. Rick Porcello and the Red Sox lost a 1-0 pitchers’ duel to Kevin Gausman and the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park, losing a three-game series that started with a convincing 12-2 win. Indeed, as much as Boston is capable of blowout wins, it’s also prone to tight losses. The Sox now have lost seven consecutive one-run games dating to Aug. 24 and are 16-22 in one-run games this season, the fourth-lowest winning percentage in such games in the entire AL. So, why can’t the Red Sox

Sammy Watkins Injury: Bills Receiver’s Foot Could Sideline Him For Weeks, Per Re…
Share this: Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins’ career has been derailed by injuries, which is too bad because when fully healthy he’s been productive and exciting to watch. Watkins played Sunday in Buffalo’s 13-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, but he failed to make much of an impact with just four receptions for 43 yards. His ability to not only be effective, but actually play in the Bills’ upcoming games is uncertain right now. “The feeling now is whether Watkins can manage the pain in his foot,” Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News wrote Monday. “There was a fear on Sunday night that the wideout could miss the rest of the season. Medical personnel, including renowned foot specialist Robert Anderson, have advised Watkins
Jackie Bradley Jr. Debuts New Outfield Dance After Red Sox Beat Blue Jays
Share this: From Rick Porcello’s 20th win of the season to an offensive explosion, there was a whole lot to like about the Boston Red Sox’s win Friday night. But the most interesting development might have come after the final out. The Red Sox’s outfielders have made a habit of celebrating each win this season with a special dance that ends with the star of the game posing while the other two pretend to take his picture. After Boston’s 13-3 rout of the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre, though, Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Brock Holt gave their dance a little extra twist. Behold, “The Ski Jump:” As it turns out, Bradley’s new dance didn’t come out of, ahem, left field. In fact, the Red Sox center
