Daniel Murphy plays for the New York Mets, but it was the Los Angeles Dodgers he haunted Thursday night in Game 5 of the National League Division Series. With the Mets trailing by one run against Zach Greinke, the odds-on favorite to win the NL Cy Young Award, Murphy created a run when he took an extra base on a walk. He later scored to tie the game. A few innings later, Murphy again took things into his own hands, this time roping a line drive into the right field sears to put the Mets ahead for good. New York

Clayton Kershaw was going toe-to-toe with Mets’ ace Jacob deGrom during Game 1 of the teams’ National League Division Series on Friday, but that all changed when Daniel Murphy stepped into the batter’s box in the fourth inning.
