The Spaniard is, just like Laverty, 46 points better off after nine races in 2016 than he was in 2015. In Germany Barbera took to the front row for the second time in his premier class career, an incredible achievement given the fact that he is on a 2014 model Ducati. MotoGP™ stars select competitors for Dani Rivas Cup
Each rider got to complete three track sessions, with the jury judging them on their age, experience, fastest lap from each session, and their fastest lap from the day. After careful deliberation the judges informed each of the 15 successful riders personally that would compete in the 2016 Dani Rivas Cup, a competition designed to be a stepping stone for the young riders to achieve their dream of competing in the Moto3™ World Championship. More importantly it was a memorable weekend for the children – and not just the ones that were successfully selected – as they got to meet their MotoGP™ idols....
