Steven Hauschka’s Name Actually Is Stephen, But He Hasn’t Corrected Anyone In Years

Steven Hauschka’s Name Actually Is Stephen, But He Hasn’t Corrected Anyone In Years

Here’s your weird sports of the day: Everyone has been spelling Steven Hauschka’s name wrong for his entire NFL career. KCPQ-TV in Seattle was doing a segment with the Seahawks kicker when producer Dusty Lane double-checked the spelling of Hauschka’s last name. However, as Lane tells it, he should’ve been checking the first. A photographer checked with Hauschka and learned that the kicker’s first name actually is spelled “Stephen” rather than “Steven.” “There was a little mix-up in college,” Hauschka said, per Lane. So why didn’t the Needham, Mass., native correct anyone until his ninth season in the league? “Uh ... NESN.com

Microsoft Releases Statement After Bill Belichick Trashes Surface Tablets

by Zack Cox on Tue, Oct 18, 2016 at 4:47PM 1,722 Share this: Bill Belichick laid the smackdown on Microsoft’s Surface tablets Tuesday morning, calling them inconsistent and “undependable” and announcing he no longer will use them on the sideline during New England Patriots games. Belichick’s comments caused quite a stir on social media — Microsoft is, after all, an official sponsor of the NFL — prompting the tech giant to release a statement Tuesday afternoon defending its product. “We respect Coach Belichick’s decision but stand behind the reliability of Surface,” Microsoft’s statement read, via ESPN.com. “We continue to receive positive feedback on having Surface devices on the sidelines from coaches, players and team personnel across the league. In the instances where sideline issues are reported in NFL

Patriots’ Biggest Weakness So Far Is Their Third-Down Defense

The New England Patriots don’t have too many things to work on after improving to 5-1 with a 35-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, but one big issue stands out. The Pats’ defense has had a rough time on third down this season, allowing opponents to convert 44 percent of the time, which is good for sixth-worst in the NFL. Hear more from former Patriots tight end Jermaine Wiggins on the topic in the video from “NESN Sports Today,” presented by People’s United Bank, above. ... NESN.com

Why Bengals’ A.J. Green Probably Won’t Torch Patriots In Week 6 Matchup

Share this: A.J. Green has made a lot of NFL defenders look pretty silly in his NFL career, and it’ll be up to the New England Patriots to make sure their names aren’t added to that list Sunday. The Pats take on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6, and as NESN.com’s Doug Kyed pointed out on “NESN Sports Today,” containing Green is one of the most important things New England’s defense will have to do this week. Check out more from Kyed in the video from NST, presented by People’s United Bank, in the video above. More Stories Source link

Greg Hardy Would Struggle To Learn MMA If Sport Heeds Jay Glazer’s Advice

Share this: Greg Hardy’s career in mixed martial arts will be too short to ever be painful, if Jay Glazer has his way. Shortly after Hardy announced Tuesday that he intends to become a MMA fighter, Glazer, a NFL analyst for FOX Sports and MMA trainer, used Twitter to issue a resounding “you’re not welcome here” message to the unsigned NFL player. Glazer cites Hardy’s 2014 arrest on domestic violence allegations as reason to prevent him from learning the fight trade. “I would be incredibly disappointed in any of my fellow MMA coaches and any promoters if they took Greg Hardy in and taught him a shred of our incredible sport,” Glazer wrote. “Many of us train women in self defense specifically to help
