Chris Sale’s 300th Strikeout Puts Him In Special Place In Red Sox History

Chris Sale notched his 300th strikeout of the season during the Boston Red Sox’s 9-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday night. The left-handed ace became just the second Red Sox player ever to accomplish the feat, joining Pedro Martinez, who did it twice (1997 in Montreal, 1999 in Boston) in his career. Bryce Harper Tells Little Leaguers To Ignore Participation Trophies

Share this: Bryce Harper didn’t become the 2015 National League MVP by settling for anything less than first place, and he’s passing that lesson on to the next generation. The Washington Nationals star outfielder spoke to a group of Little Leaguers at an event Saturday, and he had a message that at least a few professional athletes can get behind — no participation trophies. “As much as they might tell you, ‘Oh, it’s okay you guys lost,’ but no, Johnny, no. Harper is one of the best players in Major League Baseball, so perhaps he’s onto something. Thumbnail photo via Geoff Burke/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link

(On paper, at least.) How is this possible? Well, Olynyk tallied 26 points off the bench in Boston’s series-clinching, Game 7 win over the Washington Wizards at TD Garden. That’s the most points by a Celtics reserve player in a postseason Game 7 since — you guessed it — Havlicek, who dropped 26 points off the bench against the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1965 Eastern Conference Finals. Olynyk’s 26 points also were the most by any NBA reserve in a

Alcoba, early leader of the Moto3™ Junior World Championship

Jeremy Alcoba (Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0)  leaves Albacete as the Moto3™ Junior World Championship leader, winning the first race of the season after taking part in an irresistible breakaway with Makar Yurchenko (Reale Avintia Academy). Alcoba took the lead in an impressive late braking manoeuvre on the first curve that caught his opponents by surprise. The Kazakhstani rider hung on and eventually passed him, but the Junior Estrella Galicia 0,0 team rider regained the front position ahead of Yurchenko, followed by Aleix Viu (42Motorsport). Behind them, Raúl Hernández (MRW Mahindra Aspar) went down after a clash with Makar Yurchenko (Reale Avintia Academy), bringing Alonso López (Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0) off as he tried to avoid the downed Madrid
