Bruins Prospects Understand Great Opportunity Preseason Games Present

The Boston Bruins will have their first taste of true competition Monday night. The Bruins will host the rival Montreal Canadiens in their first preseason game. After Sunday’s practice, B’s head coach Bruce Cassidy labeled preseason games as “the best evaluator,” as these contests considerably will help dictate whether a player is worthy of a roster spot. NESN’s Alex Kraemer caught up with two Bruins prospects — Jake DeBrusk and Anders Bjork — after Sunday’s training session. Both players are excited for Monday’s game, and understand how important the preseason is in terms of making the NHL roster. For more on the Bruins,... NESN.com

Bruins Roster Reset: Projected Lines, Pairings Before NHL Free Agency

Share this: The Boston Bruins ended their playoff drought last season and integrated a few talented young players into their roster. The most notable name from that group was defenseman Charlie McAvoy, who played with the poise of a veteran despite making his NHL debut in Boston’s first-round playoff series against the Ottawa Senators. The Bruins have made five first-round picks over the last three drafts, which has stocked the prospect pool with a ton of talent. However, that doesn’t mean the B’s won’t be active in the NHL’s free-agent market when it opens at noon ET on Saturday, July 1. Here’s the Bruins’ projected lineup entering free agency (RFA denotes players who are restricted free agents July 1). FORWARDSBrad Marchand–Patrice Bergeron–David Pastrnak (RFA)Frank

And even though it was a strong day for Mercedes, with Valtteri Bottas calming his first podium as a member of the team, Hamilton sounded anything but satisfied after the race. Given Ferrari’s performance in preseason testing, its victory Sunday shouldn’t surprise anyone — including Hamilton. Still, even though a rac... NESN.com
