“We started the weekend well, and today the weather was not so bad,” says Marquez. “It was really windy and a bit cold but the good thing is we tried a lot of tyres, so we have a lot of information and we worked a lot for the race. The laptime was coming quite easily too, although of course you push, so I’m happy with the feeling and we’ll see tomorrow if we can keep this level and try to improve a bit more.” Source link

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Was ‘Worried About’ Concussion Risk In Talladega Race
Racing drivers often are thought of as fearless, but in reality, they’re just better at suppressing their fears than most people are. Dale Earnhardt Jr. admitted after Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway that, although he started from pole, he was more nervous than usual heading into the contest, according to NBC Sports. Earnhardt, who has a history of concussions, knew that, of the remaining races, the Alabama 500 presented the biggest risk of injury. “This was one I was worried about, in the back of my mind I was a little concerned,” Earnhardt said. “You can’t win the race if you race scared. Photo finish for Baz and Lowes at Aragon
Sam Lowes, P22: “Unfortunately, I struggled on Saturday, I think partly because of the characteristics of the track that gave a lot of us MotoGP rookies trouble. I knew that my pace wouldn't be the fastest today, but I was able to be consistent and not make any mistakes, finishing the race. Obviously, my objective is different, but on a less than easy weekend with only a few sessions held on dry asphalt to prepare for the race, I need to look at the positive aspects and think about Japan.” Source link

Bradley Smith (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) made a solid step forward for Sunday at Aragon, starting from the back row but moving up to take P19. Using the soft tyre to his advantage earlier in the race, the Brit then found it a slightly tougher task over race distance - but has more track time to make more progress as the Austrian factory remain at MotorLand for Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of flying to Motegi. Moto2™ back on track at Aragon
Championship leader and Sunday’s race winner Franco Morbidelli (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) chose to focus on suspension setup with further Öhlins development following the Official Test at the Red Bull Ring back in August. With teammate Alex Marquez missing the test to recover from his injury picked up in Misano, Morbidelli also tried a smaller diameter disc from Yutaka in a productive day for the Italian. Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team), runner-up on race day, also concentrated on suspension, but only stayed for the opening hour of the test. Source link
Redding: “It wasn’t looking good until the race”
Scott Redding, P8: “I’m really, really happy with the result in the race, I didn’t expect that. We struggled a lot all weekend and I pushed hard all the weekend but I never felt comfortable. I struggled a lot with the front tyres and even in Warm Up I wasn’t in a good, confident position but we made some changes for the race. It started to work, I had quite good grip from the beginning so I could get the rhythm. So in the end I was happy with the end result. We worked hard and it wasn’t looking good until the race, we were thinking if we could get top ten it would be a good job. So to
