Can Öncu puts in Malaysian masterclass

Hiroshi Aoyama, Asia Talent Scout: “I think we had a beautiful and clean Race 1 at Sepang, so congratulations to Can Öncü. He was fast from qualifying and we expected he might be able to go away – he made a good start and kept his rhythm. The other guys tried to follow him but Yamanaka, Anuar, Deniz and Salim were struggling to follow and started to fight – so they lost a few tenths per lap. But it was a really nice race from Can Öncü, and Anuar fought a lot to get away from the group. Salim almost crashed but then at the last corner passed them. Those riders did a great race and we’ll see how they

Amy Earnhardt Defends Telling Husband Not To Race In NASCAR 2018 Clash

Share this: Dale Earnhardt Jr. might have missed out on his last opportunity to compete in The Clash at Daytona. At least if his wife Amy has anything to say about it. Dale revealed Tuesday that he is considering running in the 2018 Clash, though Amy is opposed to the idea, according to NBC Sports. The Hendrick Motorsports driver, who missed most of 2016 with a concussion, was cleared to return to competition before the 2016 running of the exhibition race, but opted to sit out. He instead made his comeback at the Daytona 500, where he took pole and earned a spot in next year’s Clash. “Amy doesn’t want me to run it,” Dale told NBC Sports. “I’ve got a pole and kind

Kyle Larson Flies Over Top Of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Late In Race At Daytona

Kyle Larson was one of a handful of drivers vying for the lead of Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway, but his day quickly came to an end after a small misstep. Larson was on the back straight with eight laps remaining in the Coke Zero 400 Powered by Coca-Cola and moved to the outside as he approached Turn 3. He hadn’t completely cleared Ricky Stenhouse Jr., though, so the two touched, ultimately sending Larson’s No. 42 over the hood of Stenhouse’s No. 17. The current points leader, Larson wasn’t injured in the crash, though it could have ended much worse had his car not returned to

Rossi: "I race for this feeling"

Valentino Rossi, P1: “It’s a very important victory, not only for the Championship but the feeling – coming back to number one is fantastic, after one year. I race motorcycles for this feeling, for how I feel for five or six hours after the race – especially after a year without victory. It was a great race, a great battle with Petrucci and from a technical standpoint I’m happy. We’ve worked on the bike and changed the chassis, and now it’s like I’m more able to ride it in my way, in a better way. Everything is open, and from one track to it another can change a lot – so we have to wait and see at Sachsenring. But

Can Öncü dominates Assen Qualifying

Skinner, the 15-year-old Scot, had a slightly different take on it. “Some of the group were doing a good job but others were just block passing and messing it up but I’m very happy to be second fastest and the bike is working well now, we went back to the settings we ran in the first race in Jerez and I’m happy with it. If it rains tomorrow, well it’s the same for everyone, nothing to worry about.” Source link

U.S. Grand Prix Schedule Changed To Accommodate Justin Timberlake Concert

Share this: Justin Timberlake will perform in Austin, Texas on Saturday night following the United States Grand Prix, but not without a little schedule shifting. While there usually is a two-hour break following the FP3 session, there now will be a four-hour space before the 4 p.m. local time qualifying race precedes the “JT” concert. According to motorsport.com, the change is in hopes that more people will stay for the concert, as well as for music fans to maybe take in some racing before going to the show. Mechanics and race teams are complaining about the time change because it will make them change their routine and create a longer work day. The teams also are worried that this could cause the Formula One to
