Red Sox Wrap: Boston’s Offense Comes Alive Late In 9-6 Win Over Yankees

The Boston Red Sox have been a resilient ball club all season, and that trend continued Friday night against the New York Yankees at Fenway Park. Trailing the Yankees by three in the bottom half of the seventh, the Red Sox rallied for four runs in the inning and tacked on two more in the eighth en route to a 9-6 victory in Game 1 of the weekend series. It was a brief outing for Red Sox starter Drew Pomeranz. The left-hander tossed 3 1/3 scoreless innings before being pulled from the game with back spasms. Boston’s bullpen wasn’t spectacular in relief of Pomeranz, but timely hitting bailed out the lackluster pitching. With

Red Sox Notes: Eduardo Nunez, Rafael Devers Exceeding Expectations For Boston

Red Sox Notes: Eduardo Nunez, Rafael Devers Exceeding Expectations For Boston

The Boston Red Sox struggled mightily upon returning from the Major League Baseball All-Star break, and a lack of offense was one of the primary reasons why. The Red Sox simply couldn’t string multiple hits together, and scored three runs or less in seven of their first 14 games after the break. But the Red Sox’s bats suddenly have found a spark, in large part due to a 20-year-old prospect and a player acquired via trade that went fairly under the radar. Rafael Devers and Eduardo Nunez both have been red hot since arriving to Boston, and have helped the Sox post a three-game winning streak, with the latest victory coming in Thursday

Red Sox Vs. Blue Jays Lineup: Andrew Benintendi, Mitch Moreland Sit For Finale

Share this: The Boston Red Sox are coming off another win against the Toronto Blue Jays, and they’re going with a fresh lineup for Thursday afternoon’s game at Fenway Park. The series finale gets going at 1:35 p.m. ET, and a couple of Boston’s regular starters will get a break after Wednesday night’s 5-1 victory. Both left fielder Andrew Benintendi and first baseman Mitch Moreland will take a seat, putting Chris Young in front of the Green Monster, while designated hitter Hanley Ramirez takes the field. Young will bat second, and Ramirez will bat out of the cleanup spot. Young usually slots into the DH spot, so Dustin Pedroia will take over there and bat third. Brock Holt will assume Pedroia’s duties at

All Rise: Yankees’ Aaron Judge Accused Of Being Closet Red Sox Fan

Share this: Red Sox fans would love nothing more than to see Aaron Judge in a Red Sox uniform. And now, their wishes have been granted. Well, sort of. A picture recently emerged on Twitter that shows a man, who sure looks a lot like the New York Yankees rookie slugger, wearing a Red Sox T-shirt. We can’t state with absolutely certainty that this is Judge, but it seems like the real deal. Obviously, this means Judge is bound for Boston once he becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2023, at which point he’ll begin his quest to shatter all of Ted Williams’ team home-run records. Plus, while he bides his time, Judge can work on his addition to the Boston outfield’s “win, dance, repeat”
