Eduardo Rodriguez Finds Groove After Seven Straight Quality Starts For Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox defeated the Seattle Mariners 3-0 in game 1 Friday night at Fenway Park as Eduardo Rodriguez pitched his seventh straight quality start for Boston. Rodriguez improved to 4-1 in the 2017 season after allowing only five hits in six shut out innings while striking out four. After the game, Rodriguez said it has been a great help having fellow left-handers Chris Sale and David Price to learn from. Emotional Alex Rodriguez Announces His Final Game With Yankees Will Be Friday

Alex Rodriguez’s playing days with the New York Yankees soon will be over. The Yankees announced Sunday that the third baseman/designated hitter will play his final game with New York on Friday at Yankee Stadium against the Tampa Bay Rays. After that game, Rodriguez will be unconditionally released from his player’s contract and sign with the team through Dec. 31, 2017 to be an advisor and instructor. “After spending several days discussing this plan with Alex, I am pleased that he will remain a part of our organization moving forward and transition into a role in which I know he can flourish,” Yankees managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner s... Red Sox Vs. Mariners Lineup: Eduardo Rodriguez Takes Mound Vs. Seattle

Share this: The Red Sox are headed to the land of Starbucks, and Boston fans might need some extra coffee to stay up for another West Coast game. The Red Sox’s 11-game West Coast swing started with a series split against the Los Angeles Angels thanks to Dustin Pedroia’s heroics. Now Boston begins another four-game set against the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field on Monday night. Left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez gets the start for Boston, as he looks to continue to improve in the second half of the season. Rodriguez was sent to Triple-A Pawtucket after a disastrous June outing against the Tampa Bay Rays, but he’s 1-1 with a 3.06 ERA since returning to the big leagues. Boston will trot out almost the same lineup

Eduardo Rodriguez Looks To Build On Strong Start Vs. Struggling Twins

Share this: BOSTON — Eduardo Rodriguez is coming off his best outing of the season, and he’ll get a chance to start a hot streak against the worst team in the American League. The left-hander threw seven innings of one-run ball against the New York Yankees on July 16, a stark contrast from the numbers he was putting up before being optioned to Triple-A. Rodriguez will face off against a Minnesota Twins team Friday that only managed to score two runs on four hits against Steven Wright the night before. The only change to the Red Sox’s lineup Thursday is Sandy Leon filling in for Ryan Hanigan, who Boston manager John Farrell said went through some “turmoil” catching for Wright on Thursday. Leon will bat

Red Sox Wrap: Mookie Betts Powers Red Sox, Eduardo Rodriguez To 6-2 Win

The Boston Red Sox did a great job welcoming Eduardo Rodriguez back to the rotation Tuesday. The Red Sox had two runs just five pitches into the game after right fielder Mookie Betts and second baseman Dustin Pedroia started the game off with back-to-back solo home runs, and Betts added a three-run homer in the second to give Rodriguez a 5-0 lead before he even had to do much work. The left-hander was able to cruise from there, too, holding the potent Orioles offense to two runs in the 6-2 win. And, oh yeah, Betts hit a third home run for good measure. Here’s how it all went down. GAME IN A WORDImpressive.

Red Sox Notes: Mookie Betts Breaks Out; Eduardo Rodriguez Makes Rehab Strides

BOSTON — With the way Jackie Bradley Jr. and Xander Bogaerts have been hitting, it’s easy to forget about Mookie Betts sometimes. But it was impossible to ignore the Red Sox right fielder Saturday at Fenway Park. That’s because Betts was a one-man wrecking crew against the Cleveland Indians, going 3-for-5 with two home runs, three runs scored and a career-high five RBIs to carry Boston’s offense in a 9-1 blowout win. All three of his hits went for extra bases: A rocket double off the Green Monster in the third inning, a solo homer in the fourth and a grand slam to top it all off in the seventh. “He’s got such lightning bat
