Cleveland traded talented but troubled wideout Josh Gordon to the Patriots, along with a 2019 seventh-round draft pick Monday, in exchange for a fifth-round pick in 2019. Scott Boras Refutes Eric Hosmer’s Reported Offers From Padres, Royals
One of the biggest free agents in Major League Baseball appeared destined for one of two teams, but now his agent is reeling in those rumors a touch. A report Wednesday noted free agent first baseman Eric Hosmer had offers from the San Diego Padres and Kansas City Royals, the latter of whom he’s played the entirety of his seven-year career for. But Hosmer’s agent, Scott Boras, told The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal that such reports were “inaccurate,” but neglected to go into any more detail. John Scott Leaves Bench, Sparks Massive Ducks-Sharks Line Brawl (Video)
The pressure was building the entire game. It was just a matter of time until things erupted, and they certainly did. In the third period of Sunday’s game between the San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Ducks, Sharks’ tough guy John Scott left the bench to fight Tim Jackman. The pair already had dropped the gloves early in the first period and earned matching fighting penalties. Round two turned into a full-out line brawl. Scott could face an automatic ten-game suspension if the NHL finds that he didn’t leave the bench as part of a legitimate line change, which would violate Rule 70.10.
