Share this: To say Clay Buchholz’s 2016 season has been a roller coaster would be an insult to roller coasters. The Red Sox right-hander has had some up-and-down campaigns in Boston, but this year has been especially tumultuous, featuring a rough first two months and three separate stints in the bullpen. Roller coasters also have high points, though, and Buchholz certainly is on one now. Buchholz delivered another solid start for the Red Sox on Wednesday night, limiting the Baltimore Orioles to one run on just three hits over seven innings at Camden Yards to lift Boston to its seventh consecutive win. “He never let the game speed up on him,” Red Sox manager John Farrell said after the game, as aired on NESN’s

Relive David Ortiz Breaking Red Sox Home Run Record On 10th Anniversary
Share this: David Ortiz has an abundance of memorable home runs in a Red Sox uniform, and more could come before the end of this season, his final season. But Wednesday marks the ten-year anniversary of one of his most historic homers. On Sept. 21, 2006, Ortiz belted his 51st homer of the season off of Minnesota Twins starter Johan Santana. The blast broke a tie with Jimmie Foxx, giving Oritz sole position of the Red Sox single-season home run record. [embedded content] Ortiz went on to finish the season with 54 homers. That number still stands as both the record and Ortiz’s personal best. Ortiz’s second highest number for homers in a season is 47, a mark he set in 2005. The most homers he’s hit
David Price Reveals His AL Cy Young Winner; Red Sox Fans Probably Agree
Share this: David Price went to bat for his teammate Tuesday. While many probably expected Price to be in the American League Cy Young discussion this year, a slow start threatened to derail the left-hander’s first season in Boston. That doesn’t mean a Red Sox pitcher won’t bring home the hardware, though, as Rick Porcello is a serious contender for the award. Price wants the world to know. I haven't done my due diligence for my teammate and it's well over due…RICK PORCELLO for cy!! Last night should have solidified that #RPCY — David Price (@DAVIDprice24) September 20, 2016 Porcello tossed a complete game Monday as the Red Sox defeated the Baltimore Orioles 5-2. The right-hander now is 21-4 with a 3.08 ERA over 210 2/2
Red Sox Notes: John Farrell Totally Saw David Ortiz’s Amazing Season Coming
Share this: Anyone who has followed the Boston Red Sox over the last 13 years knows better than to underestimate David Ortiz. With that said, we wouldn’t blame you if you failed to predict this. The 40-year-old designated hitter is in the midst of one of the greatest final seasons in Major League Baseball history, seemingly reaching milestones on a nightly basis. Monday night was no exception, as Ortiz became the oldest player to hit 35 home runs in a season with a two-run blast at Camden Yards that helped lift the Red Sox to a 5-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles. Big Papi now leads the team with 35 homers and 118 RBIs, incredible numbers for a player his age. Given that Ortiz hasn’t topped
Mookie Betts Isn’t Afraid Of The Big Stage For Red Sox As Playoffs Loom
Mookie Betts says he doesn’t feel any added pressure from being in a pennant race, and it’s hard not to believe him. Betts launched a two-run home run — his 31st of the season — in the third inning of the Red Sox’ 5-2 win against the Orioles on Monday night in Baltimore. It was the eighth home run that Betts has hit at Camden Yards this season. With the victory, the Red Sox moved four games ahead of Baltimore for first place in the American League East. Following the win, Betts spoke in the visitor’s clubhouse, as seen on NESN’s “Red Sox Final.” Check out the video above for more of his
Adrian Peterson Suffers Knee Injury, Ruled Out For Rest Of Vikings-Packers
Share this: The Minnesota Vikings have had no luck this season when it comes to injuries. Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson hasn’t exactly been lighting up the stat sheet so far this season, but that was an afterthought following what happened Sunday against the Green Packers. After gaining a chunk of yards on a first down late in the third quarter, Peterson had trouble getting up due to a right knee injury and had to be helped off the field and into the locker room. Michele Tafoya said Vikings med staff was doing stability test on Peterson's knee. Patriots Pick Six: Chris Hogan Among Stars In 23-21 Win Over Cardinals
Share this: GLENDALE, Ariz. — The New England Patriots weren’t supposed to be competitive in their season opener against the Arizona Cardinals. Lacking tight end Rob Gronkowski, left tackle Nate Solder and right guard Jonathan Cooper, the Patriots dropped down to 9.5-point underdogs. Never doubt New England. The Patriots pulled out a close 23-21 win over the Cardinals and start the season 1-0 under Jimmy Garoppolo. This will be a team to be reckoned with when everyone is healthy and Tom Brady is back under center. Here’s who stood out in the win. JIMMY GAROPPOLOGaroppolo was put in an extremely difficult situation without what was supposed to be his starting running back, left tackle, right guard, right tackle and star tight end. He still completed
