Nyquist Reportedly Won’t Compete In Belmont Stakes After Preakness Loss

Nyquist wasn’t able to continue his triple crown run after losing to Exaggerator in last weekend’s Preakness Stakes, and he won’t compete in the sport’s last marquee race of the spring. TMZ has learned that Nyquist isn’t going to race in the Belmont Stakes, which is scheduled for June 6. He has an elevated white blood cell count, his assistant trainer told TMZ. However, the trainer also said the 2016 Kentucky Derby winner is “definitely going to race again this summer.” This news isn’t too surprising.
