Bruins’ Strong Response Not Enough To Erase Slow Start In Loss To Kings
by Zack Cox on Sun, Mar 20, 2016 at 2:08AM 351 “Playing a 60-minute game” is such a common hockey cliche for a reason, the Boston Bruins showed it Saturday night. Boston saved perhaps the best two periods of its California road trip for last, but they were not enough to make up for the inauspicious start to Saturday night’s 2-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center. The Kings nearly tripled up the Bruins in shots on net in the first 20 minut...

Red Sox Notes: Rick Porcello Not Where He Wants To Be Yet After Rough Start
Rick Porcello’s once promising spring training outing Sunday changed with two outs in the second inning. Porcello, who had blanked the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday through the first 1 2/3 innings, allowed eight runs, all with two outs, over the next two frames in the Boston Red Sox’s 13-5 loss in Port Charlotte, Fla. “I don’t like the line, but it’s a work in progress, and clearly I’m not where I want to be yet,” Porcello said, via MLB.com. “It doesn’t look that good, but I feel like I’m improving.” He added: “The results weren’t very good. They hit mistakes. Really, the thing that felt most important to me was that I was ...
Olympiacos’s record winning league start ends
The longest winning start to a European league season this millennium has come to an end after Crete outfit Platanias became the first Greek side to take points away from a meeting with Olympiacos in 2015/16.Marco Silva's men secured their 17th successive league victory last weekend, surpassing F91 Dudelange's 2007/08 mark of 16, but could not keep the run going on Monday evening. For the first time in the Greek Super League this season they fell behind, and though Kostas Fortounis equalised the visitors could not find a winner. It is not all doom and gloom for Olympiacos, though. They can take solace from the fact that they are 16 points clear of second-placed AEK Athens, an...
Koji Uehara Not Concerned About Shaky Start To Red Sox Spring Training
Koji Uehara recently looked very sharp during live batting practice on the back fields at JetBlue Park. The Boston Red Sox closer’s crispness didn’t spill over into his first spring training appearance. Uehara surrendered two doubles, a single and a run Friday as the Red Sox lost to the Miami Marlins 5-3 in Grapefruit League action at JetBlue Park. It was a shaky first outing for Uehara, who will be monitored closely throughout the season, but the right-hander wasn’t too concerned about the poor results. “I’m not even looking at my location or anything. I’m just trying to get my innings in,” Uehara told reporters in Fort Mye...
