Bruce Cassidy Explains How Bruins Overcame Rough Start To Season

The Boston Bruins’ 2017-18 season didn’t start off in the way they would have hoped. The Bruins posted a 6-7-4 record in their first 17 games, leading many to believe the Black and Gold were bound for a disappointing campaign. But Boston managed to turn things around, turning in a 44-13-8 record in the remainder of the regular season en route to the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. In a recent sit-down interview with NESN’s Andy Brickley, Bruce Cassidy explained how his club righted the ship and became one of the premier teams in the East. Alex Cora Not Surprised By Red Sox’s Impressive Start To 2018 Season

The Boston Red Sox continued their franchise-record start Tuesday when they pummelled the Los Angeles Angels 10-1 at Angel Stadium. Boston cranked six home runs, including three from Mookie Betts to start their West Coast road trip off on the right foot. The Red Sox improved to 14-2 on the season, marking only the second time in franchise history that they have won 14 out of 16 games, with the first time coming during the summer of 2011. Here’s What Alex Cora Is Happiest About Amid Red Sox’s Stellar Start

BOSTON — The Boston Red Sox have been firing on all cylinders to start the 2018 season. The starting pitching has been superb, the hitting has been timely and the team’s resiliency has resulted in a few hard-fought, exciting wins. But for new Red Sox manager Alex Cora, what he’s happiest about through Boston’s 8-1 start to the campaign is what he’s seen with the gloves. “Defense,” Cora said prior to Tuesday’s game against the New York Yankees. “I know there’s numbers and errors and stuff that you take into consideration and errors are not as important as it was when we used to play. But when you make the routine play, you... NESN.com

Ezpeleta: “I respect the decisions taken by the stewards”

This is not the first time this situation has occurred, as Ezpeleta said: “It’s the same that happened some years ago in Sachsenring, where everybody took the start from the pitlane”. From then on, they’ve been planning for this situation: “We made the decision, shared by the majority of the teams, to start the way we did” [for the rider who made the right decision and did not move from the grid to start from his original position, while the others start from further back]. “That decision was taken for safety reasons, and it was the right decision”. Deven Marrero Given Fresh Start After Red Sox Trade Infielder To Diamondbacks

Deven Marrero’s time as a member of the Boston Red Sox has ended. The utility man was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks for a player to be named later or cash considerations Saturday. Marrero struggled early in his career, especially at the plate batting .208 in 236 at-bats. Now a Diamondback, Marrero should see more opportunity with Arizona than he would have in Boston where he was battling for the final bench spot. For Jerry Remy and Dave O’Brien’s breakdown of the trade, check out the “NESN Sports Today” video above, presented by People’s United Bank. ... NESN.com
