Vikings Running Back Adrian Peterson Planning To Have Knee Surgery
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson appears to be headed for surgery after he suffered a right knee injury in last week’s win over the Green bay Packers. Peterson wasn’t playing well before the injury happened. He’s ran for just 50 yards on 31 carries, and the Vikings are the only team without 100 rushing yards through the first two games combined. Still, Peterson remains one of the best players in the league and his loss for any amount of games would be a huge blow to an offense with just two offensive touchdowns all season. Fantasy football owners should look to the waiver wire or Vikings backup running backs Jerick McKinnon ... NESN.com
Matt Shoemaker Recovering From Brain Surgery After Being Hit With Line Drive
Share this: It was a scary scene during the Angels-Mariners game in Seattle on Sunday when Matt Shoemaker was struck in the head with a line drive, but the Los Angeles starter is recovering after emergency surgery. In the second inning of the Angels’ 4-2 win, Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager hit a ball that hit Shoemaker on the right side of his head at 105 mph. The accident left Shoemaker with a small skull fracture and a hematoma, and CT scans showed increased bleeding that ended up requiring surgery. “The CT scan confirmed or when they actually did the operation that confirmed where the bleeding was,” Angels general manager Billy Eppler said Monday, per the team’s website. “They were able to
Carter Mock Gets To Just Be A Kid Thanks To Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Doctors
Share this: Carter Mock is your typical 8-year-old boy: active, energetic, and in love with exploring the world around him. But when he developed a limp, doctors took a closer look and discovered a tumor in his leg. After almost a year of battling osteosarcoma and fibroblastic sarcoma that included surgery on his leg, Carter is back to being that adventurous boy full time, and he’s got a new mentor to help him explore. None of it would have been possible without The Jimmy Fund and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, though. The 2016 WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon will take place Aug. 29 through 30. You can donate and learn more here. Hear Carter’s story, as seen on NESN’s “Red Sox First Pitch,” in the video
Rabat undergoes successful surgery
Michael Bartholemy - Team Principal: “A fractured collarbone was a high price for Tito to pay in what looked like an innocuous crash at the Italian Grand Prix. The good news is that the damage wasn’t as extensive as first feared and that he was able to return to Barcelona quickly for treatment. The surgery, carried out by Doctors Mir and Marlet, was a success, but we need to confer with them again later this week before deciding with Tito at which race he will return. We know Tito will be keen to get back on the bike as soon as possible, but we want him to be fully fit before he does so.”...

After experiencing the pain, Silva was examined by a physician and diagnosed with cholecystitis, an inflammation of the gall bladder. The condition could result in Silva going into surgery to have the organ removed. “No decisions have been made as we are exploring the possibility of a new opponent for Hall,” UFC officials told FOX Sports on Tuesday.
