Roger Goodell ‘Misspoke’ About When Giants Told NFL About Deflategate 2
Roger Goodell made a boo-boo. SAD! In an exact 180 from how the league handled the original Deflategate involving Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, the league came out right away and tried to put the Deflategate 2 scandal between the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers to bed. The NFL commissioner even told reporters Wednesday that the league was “comfortable” with how it handled the latest deflated-football controversy. But he also made a pretty important error during the press conference when he said the Giants raised their concerns about the PSI during the teams’ Week 13 matchup, which the NFL since has said wasn’t the case. ... The New England Patriots’ 30-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday was the 199th of Brady’s career, moving him into a tie with Hall of Famer Brett Favre for second in NFL history. Only Peyton Manning (200) has more. Brady, whose first victory came Sept. 30, 2001, was at his very best in win No. 199, shredding his hometown 49ers for four interceptions without turning the ball over. It was the 21st four-plus-touchdown, zero-interception game of Brady’s career, extending his own NFL record. The Patriots led just
Importance Of Rob Gronkowski, Martellus Bennett For Patriots Can’t Be Overstated
Share this: One of the many things New England Patriots fans were looking forward to this season was how the two-tight end sets with Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett would look like. But the results so far have been mixed. The Gronk-Bennett duo was on full display was in the Patriots’ win over the Cleveland Browns in Tom Brady’s first game back from his four-game Deflategate suspension. Gronk didn’t have a touchdown, but he did haul in 109 receiving yards on five catches. Bennett, meanwhile, had three touchdowns and 67 yards receiving. Patriots’ Keys For Second Half: Improving Pass Rush Crucial For New England
Share this: The New England Patriots had a pretty good first half of the season, to say the least. Even without Tom Brady for four games, New England still are 7-1 heading into their Week 9 bye. But that doesn’t mean they can just sit back, relax and cruise to another Super Bowl. No, there’s still plenty the Pats can work on, and key No. 1 is improving their pass rush. Hear NESN.com Patriots beat writer Doug Kyed explain that key and more in the video from “NESN Sports Today,” presented by Cross Insurance, above. More Stories Source link
Why Tom Brady’s Mobility Has Been Essential To Patriots QB’s Success
Share this: Despite what his mom believes, Tom Brady isn’t exactly the fastest guy on the football field. In fact, the New England Patriots quarterback is pretty slow. But don’t be fooled by Brady’s poor straightaway speed — his feet still play a big role in his success. The 39-year-old QB had another monster day Sunday, throwing for 315 yards and four touchdown passes in a 41-25 demolition of the Buffalo Bills at New Era Field. Brady did all that while facing a strong Bills pass rush, and on several occasions, he showed impressive mobility to elude defenders and keep the play alive before finding his open receiver. Former Patriots tight end Jermaine Wiggins believes Brady’s elusiveness is a big reason why he’s putting
