Stating that Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski connected on a touchdown pass hardly is a rare occurrence during the fall. That remained the case Sunday afternoon, as the quarterback and tight end hooked up for a first-quarter score in the New England Patriots’ 27-20 Week 1 win over the Houston Texans. Brady and Gronk now have the sixth most touchdown combinations in NFL history, and second most for a quarterback-tight end duo. It was a rough afternoon for the Dallas Cowboys. Needing a win to remain in playoff contention, the Cowboys were stymied by the Seattle Seahawks in a 21-12 loss at AT&T Stadium. And the Seahawks rubbed some salt in the wound during the third quarter. Quarterback Dak Prescott tried to dump off a pass to Ezekiel Elliott that was intercepted by Justin Coleman and returned 30 yards for a touchdown. After Coleman crossed the goal line, he ran over to the giant Salvation Army bucket and jumped inside in an apparent jab at Elliott, who performed the same celebration last season. Bengals’ Pacman Jones Gives Birth To Child (Football) After Return TD
Another week, another memorable touchdown celebration in the NFL. This one, however, was a little weird. During the second quarter of the Cincinnati Bengals’ 30-16 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Bengals cornerback/punt returner Adam “Pacman” Jones returned a punt 55 yards for a touchdown. Salt Lake’s game against the Nebraska Danger took place at the Maverik Center and featured fans storming the field in the first quarter (!) of the game after the Screaming Eagles scored a touchdown to cut their opponent’s lead to 14-7. The most entertaining part of the game — in addition to Norm Macdonald’s hilarious commentary, of course — came at halftime after Salt Lake scored a touchdown to cut Nebraska’s lead to 35-27 heading into the break.
