Fans Apparently Can Go ‘Glamping’ At Watkins Glen Starting In 2018

Racing often is thought of as a gritty sport, in which people aren’t afraid to get a little dirt under their fingers. But Watkins Glen International knows no two race fans are exactly alike. Watkins Glen announced Friday that starting this year it will offer fans a way to stay at the track during race weekends without actually having to rough it: “glamping.” The New York track will introduce “glamping” — short for glamorous camping — packages that come with a tent that includes a bed, or cot, and sitting area. The tents reportedly will be set up before you arrive, and will be located behind Riesbeck Grandstand near Turn 11. The... NESN.com

Drivers Couldn’t Stay On Track To Save Their Lives In F1 Mexico Practice

The first free practice session for the Formula One Mexican Grand Prix was something of a crapshoot. Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez always is a difficult track to get comfortable on, though it was made even more difficult Friday because the series has yet to race on the Mexico City track. Drivers therefore had to figure out how their 2017-spec F1 cars behave 7,500 feet above sea level, as was evident from the copious spins in FP1. Throughout the entire session, teams struggled to get their cars to work on the dirty track in thin air. As a result, everybody from Force India reserve driver Alfonso Celis, to three-time world champion Lewis Hamilton had a corner g... NESN.com

Moto2™ back on track at Aragon

Championship leader and Sunday’s race winner Franco Morbidelli (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) chose to focus on suspension setup with further Öhlins development following the Official Test at the Red Bull Ring back in August. With teammate Alex Marquez missing the test to recover from his injury picked up in Misano, Morbidelli also tried a smaller diameter disc from Yutaka in a productive day for the Italian. Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team), runner-up on race day, also concentrated on suspension, but only stayed for the opening hour of the test. Source link
