A Zion girl in her 40s was killed by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday whereas she was strolling on a street in north suburban Waukegan, police say.
She was struck about 5:40 p.m. whereas strolling south on Sheridan Road at Greenwood Avenue, Waukegan police mentioned in an announcement. It was unclear if she was in a crosswalk.
The girl was taken to a hospital and pronounced lifeless, police mentioned.
Police mentioned a dark-colored SUV might have been concerned within the crash.
The Lake County coroner’s workplace has not launched her title. An post-mortem is about for Friday.
