David Ortiz Went Crazy For Dominican Republic’s Comeback Win Over Team USA

Share this: There was a marquee matchup in the World Baseball Classic on Saturday night, as the United States took on the defending champion Dominican Republic at Marlins Park in Miami. Team USA held a two-run lead in the bottom of the eighth inning when Nelson Cruz launched a three-run home run off Andrew Miller to give the Dominican Republic the lead. And former Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz loved what he saw. Ortiz was a member of the Dominican Republic team that won the 2013 World Baseball Classic. The Dominican Republic would tack on another run and win 7-5 over Team USA. Thumbnail photo via Kim Klement/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link

Lawrence Guy Reported Signing Isn’t Flashy, But He Could Help Patriots

Share this: As far as the New England Patriots official and reported moves so far this offseason go, the reported signing of defensive lineman Lawrence Guy won’t make the headlines that the Brandin Cooks trade made. But he still could play an important role on the 2017 Pats. Guy, who reportedly signed a four-year, $20 million contract to join New England, should give the Patriots some nice depth on their interior defensive line. Hear NESN.com Patriots beat writer Doug Kyed and NESN’s Jahmai Webster break down the Patriots’ latest moves in the video from “NESN Sports Today,” presented by People’s United Bank, above. David Price Takes Step Forward, Throws For First Time Since Elbow Injury

Share this: The Boston Red Sox seemingly were in panic mode on March 2 when starter David Price was suffering elbow and forearm soreness and needed a second opinion. But the lefty has been receiving only good news since. Price was given a prognosis of seven to 10 days of rest and medication instead of needing surgery, but the 31-year-old insisted he would take his time if he didn’t feel 100 percent. Red Sox manager John Farrell gave Price the all clear Wednesday to attempt to throw Friday or Saturday if he felt good enough, but the team still wasn’t sure that would happen. But Price did pick up the baseball Saturday and took the first step in his rehab process. Well, the southpaw threw the ball

Berkshire Bank Hockey Night In New England: Projected Bruins-Flyers Lineups

Share this: The Boston Bruins have a chance to expand on their recent dominance at home when they take on the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday at TD Garden. Philadelphia has won only one of its last three games, but the club still is in the running for a wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. The Flyers sit five points back of the New York Islanders for the second wild card, while the Bruins are in a slightly more comfortable position with a two-point lead over the Toronto Maple Leafs for third place in the Atlantic Division. Boston also has won six of its last seven home games

What Reported Brandin Cooks Trade Means For Patriots, Malcolm Butler

The Patriots reportedly executed the trade without having to deal cornerback Malcolm Butler, whose future in New England is uncertain. However, reports indicate that the Patriots and Saints could revisit a deal involving Butler at a later date. To hear NESN.com’s Doug Kyed break down the Cooks trade, check out the video above from “NESN Sports Today,” presented by People’s United Bank. More Stories Source link
