Share this: The Denver Broncos suffered a frustrating 16-3 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday, and apparently, it boiled over into the locker room. According to NFL Media columnist Michael Silver, head coach Gary Kubiak asked if any player would like to address the team after the loss. When Russell Okung stepped forward, defensive back Aqib Talib took exception, as the Broncos offense has been underwhelming all season. After a shouting match ignited, Kubiak was forced to intervene and separate the players involved. “Pretty much your classic offense vs. defense divide,” as one Denver player described to Silver. Despite being one of the central players involved, Okung understood where the defensive players were coming from. “I definitely understand their frustration,” Okung told NFL.com. “They played

Colorful Odell Beckham Jr. Cleats Salute Late NBA Reporter Craig Sager
Share this: Craig Sager’s death Thursday after his lengthy bout with cancer touched many, including athletes outside the NBA world. New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. became the latest to honor the legendary TNT sideline reporter Sunday, when it was announced he would wear colorful cleats reminiscent of Sager’s suits, then auction them off to Sager’s foundation. Beckham can’t wear the cleats during the game because of the NFL’s strict uniform rules, but it appears he rocked them during pregame warmups. The cleats were taped up, but the salmon-colored sole seemed to give away what they were. Beckham isn’t the only NFL player planning to honor Sager with custom footwear. Earlier in the week, Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate, whose

Matt Barkley Taking Page From Tom Brady’s Playbook To Stay Warm In Chicago
by Zack Cox on Sun, Dec 18, 2016 at 1:06PM 1,627 Share this: Sunday’s Chicago Bears-Green Bay Packers is expected to be one of the coldest in Soldier Field history, and Bears quarterback Matt Barkley is using a unique method to stay warm. Barkley told ESPN’s Michelle Steele and NFL Media’s Stacey Dales he plans to wear a wetsuit — similar to the ones triathletes wear — under his shoulder pads in an effort to combat the sub-freezing temperatures in Chicago. The QB said he picked up the idea from former teammate Matt Cassel. How’d Cassel learn about it? From the man he used to back up in New England — Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Here’s how the interesting undergarment looked on Barkley during pregame warmups: The
Youngstown State Heads To FCS Championship Game Thanks To Circus Catch
Share this: The Youngstown State Penguins had one final play to advance to the 2016 Football Championship Subdivision National Championship. And what a play it was. Trailing by four in their semifinal game against the Eastern Washington Eagles, quarterback Hunter Wells let one last pass fly toward the end zone as time expired, and tight end Kevin Rader wouldn’t let the season end. The play was reviewed and ruled a catch, giving the Penguins a 40-38 win and a date with the James Madison Dukes on Jan. 7. Youngstown State entered the playoffs unseeded and now is one win away from a national championship. Looks like head coach Bo Pelini might get the last laugh after all. More Stories Source link
NFL Playoff Picture: Patriots Can Clinch AFC East, First-Round Bye Vs. Broncos
Share this: The Miami Dolphins delayed the seemingly inevitable for a little while longer. The Matt Moore-led Dolphins crushed the lowly New York Jets 34-13 on Saturday night at MetLife Stadium, and they can technically still catch the New England Patriots in the AFC East. But it’s not all bad news for the Patriots, though. New England can clinch its eighth consecutive AFC East title and a first-round bye with either a win or a tie Sunday in Denver against the Broncos, according to CBSSports.com’s playoff scenarios. Kickoff Sunday at Sports Authority Field at Mile High is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET. Thumbnail photo via Winslow Townson/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link
