Martellus Bennett, Patriots Expect Success ‘Because We Work (Expletive) Hard’

by Zack Cox on Mon, Nov 28, 2016 at 8:30AM 2,411 Share this: EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Martellus Bennett might be the best wordsmith in the New England Patriots’ locker room. He’s certainly the most entertaining quote, making his stall a must-visit after any Patriots game. After New England rallied to knock off the New York Jets 22-17 on Sunday at MetLife Stadium, Bennett was asked whether the Patriots’ offense remained optimistic during a less-than-stellar first half featuring three punts, one missed field goal and just 10 points scored. “That’s the only way to look at it — you just expect to move the ball,” the Patriots tight end said. “It’s not like, ‘Oh, let’s hope.’ We don’t hope to move the ball. We expect to move the

Quincy Enunwa Would Like Some More Jets Fans To Show Up For Home Games

Share this: Quincy Enunwa gave New York Jets fans plenty to cheer about Sunday at MetLife Stadium — the Jets fans who didn’t sell their tickets to New England Patriots fans, at least. The Jets wide receiver had the best game of his young career, hauling in all five of his targets for 109 yards and a touchdown, but it wasn’t enough as the Patriots came from behind to beat the Jets. That was to the delight of thousands of Patriots fans who invaded the Meadowlands, showering Patriots quarterback Tom Brady with “Brady, Brady” chants late in the game. Enunwa noticed as much and wasn’t pleased. “It’s tough,” Enunwa told reporters, per the New York Daily News. “I mean, I know as a fan

Kyle Long’s Injured Ankle Looks Gruesome Ahead Of Much-Needed Surgery

Share this: Thank goodness Kyle Long will undergo surgery Monday. The Chicago Bears offensive lineman used Twitter on Sunday to share a picture of his injured ankle with the world. The image clearly shows why he’ll sit out the rest of the NFL season. Long suffered ligament damage on Nov. 13 when fullback Paul Lasike fell onto him in the Bears’ Week 10 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Trainers carted Long off the field, and he returned to the sideline with his lower leg heavily bandaged. The Bears subsequently placed the three-time Pro Bowl guard on injured reserve. Nobody who has seen Long’s injured ankle will doubt why. Thumbnail photo via Kim Klement/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link

Martellus Bennett Had Best Reaction To Tom Brady’s Landmark 200th Win

by Zack Cox on Sun, Nov 27, 2016 at 9:19PM 2,988 Share this: EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Tom Brady registered his 200th career victory Sunday night at MetLife Stadium, tying Peyton Manning for first place on the NFL’s all-time wins list. New England Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett played a relatively minor role in his quarterback’s 200th triumph — he caught three passes for 22 yards in the Patriots’ 22-17 win over the New York Jets — but his take on the milestone was characteristically fantastic. “I mean, I wasn’t really thinking about (Brady’s win total),” Bennett said. “It’s just a milestone for me. I’d never won nine games in a season before, so I was like, ‘Oh, we’re 9-2! Hell yeah! Let’s go.’ Yeah, it’s

Tom Brady’s Display Of Toughness Sends Message To Patriots Teammates

Share this: EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Jets fans present for the New England Patriots’ 22-17 win over New York probably wish they were among the many who stayed home and left their grey seats empty at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. The Patriots’ win goes down as another notch in Tom Brady’s belt while the Jets remain futureless at quarterback. Sure, young signal-callers Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg are on the roster, but if they’re not even good enough to play quarterback over Ryan Fitzpatrick in another lost Jets season, then how are they supposed to give fans hope for tomorrow? Brady, ageless at 39 years old, had himself a day that will be remembered for his 200th win, 60,000th yard and the toughness to throw for

Stephen Curry Ditches Panthers Gear For Raiders Jersey After Losing Bet

Share this: Stephen Curry might be the most popular athlete in Oakland, but that doesn’t mean he roots for the local NFL team. The Golden State Warriors point guard grew up in Charlotte, N.C., and has been a vocal supporter Panthers. He even took part in the Super Bowl 50 pregame festivities on the Carolina sideline. But that support ended up costing him Sunday, as he apparently lost a bet with the Raiders’ 35-32 win over the Panthers. As a result, he had to wear the Silver and Black at Oakland Coliseum. And the Raiders sure were happy. Sorry, Steph. Thumbnail photo via Matthew Emmons/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link
