Julian Edelman Injury: WR’s Ankle Ailment Reportedly ‘Not Considered Serious’

The New England Patriots suffered a scare late in Sunday’s game, but it appears some of the concern can be quelled. Wide receiver Julian Edelman went to the locker room with an ankle injury in the fourth quarter of the Pats’ 34-10 Week 10 loss at the hands of the Tennessee Titans. Seeing as Edelman missed all of last season with an ACL tear suffered during the preseason, an injury in that part of the body understandably aroused some concern. But according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Edelman’s injury “is not considered serious.” While the timing of an injury almost never is ideal, Edelman is fortunate in that the Patriots are

Red Sox Notes: Blake Swihart Moving To Infield Due To Lingering Ankle Issues

Times have been tough for Blake Swihart. The Boston Red Sox prospect once appeared destined to be the team’s starting catcher of the future, but his career trajectory has changed quite a bit over the past few years. The Red Sox even tried converting him to the outfield last season, but he suffered an ankle injury while playing left field at Fenway Park that had ailed him ever since. He’s currently back on the Triple-A Pawtucket disabled list due to lingering issues with his ankle, and Red Sox manager John Farrell provided an update on his situation Tuesday while speaking with the media. “He’s been on the DL because of the ankle issue

Kyle Long’s Injured Ankle Looks Gruesome Ahead Of Much-Needed Surgery

Share this: Thank goodness Kyle Long will undergo surgery Monday. The Chicago Bears offensive lineman used Twitter on Sunday to share a picture of his injured ankle with the world. The image clearly shows why he’ll sit out the rest of the NFL season. Long suffered ligament damage on Nov. 13 when fullback Paul Lasike fell onto him in the Bears’ Week 10 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Trainers carted Long off the field, and he returned to the sideline with his lower leg heavily bandaged. The Bears subsequently placed the three-time Pro Bowl guard on injured reserve. Nobody who has seen Long’s injured ankle will doubt why. Thumbnail photo via Kim Klement/USA TODAY Sports Images More Stories Source link

Kevin White Injury: Fantasy Waiver Wire Replacements For Bears Star Entering Wee…

More bad news — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) October 5, 2016 White wasn’t a dominant player for fantasy teams through the first four games of the season, but he does have a lot of talent and potential as a former No. 6 overall draft pick. He also was playing a large role in Chicago’s passing

Dustin Pedroia Fouls Ball Off Ankle, Exits Red-Sox Dodgers With Injury

Share this: Dustin Pedroia suffered a pretty painful, self-inflicted injury Friday night. The Boston Red Sox second baseman was batting against Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Scott Kazmir in the top of the third inning at Dodger Stadium when he fouled a 2-2 offering hard off his left ankle. Pedroia fell to the ground in pain, as manager John Farrell and the Red Sox’s training staff immediately came out to check on him. Pedroia finished the at-bat but clearly was hurting, as the usually hard-running veteran jogged slowly down the line after grounding out to second base and walked gingerly back to the dugout. His night ended with that play, as Travis Shaw entered the game in his spot and moved to third base, with Aaron Hill

Vikings Quarterback Suffered Ankle Injury While Breaking Into Own Home

Taylor Heinicke might want to invest in Netflix. The Minnesota Vikings backup quarterback revealed Thursday that he suffered a leg injury a couple of weeks ago while trying to break into his own home following a late-night trip to the movies. “I was locked out of my house after a late-night movie,’’ Heinicke told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. “I came back and there’s no one home, and I’m trying to nudge the door a little. It was one of those double doors. I thought it just needed a little nudge. “Me and my buddy were getting it going a little, but when I put my foot to the door, my foot kind
