The U.S. tandem beat Australia in its first match of the Olympics. Monday’s victory also extended Walsh Jennings’ incredible streak in Olympic play. Share this: Day 3 of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro was an excellent one for USA swimming. The Americans took home six medals in the pool: two gold, one silver and three bronze. Here’s a closer look at how things transpired Monday. Men’s 200M Freestyle FinalConor Dwyer won his first individual Olympic medal, taking home the bronze with a time of 1:45.23. He finished behind gold medalist Sun Yang (1:44.65) and just three hundredths of a second behind silver medalist Chad le Clos (1:45.20). Another American, Townley Haas, finished fifth at 1:45.58.
