Report: Celtics Offered Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green for Russell Westbrook, Kendrick Perkins After Last Season

by Mike Cole on Tue, Nov 29, 2011 at 11:59PM   How's this for weird? ESPN's Chris Broussard tweeted an interesting failed trade proposal that Celtics president Danny Ainge reportedly offered the Oklahoma City Thunder after last season. According to Broussard, the C's offered the Thunder point guard Rajon Rondo and forward Jeff Green in exchange for point guard Russell Westbrook and center Kendrick Perkins. Trading Rondo, one of the franchise's cornerstones would raise eyebrows as it is. However, the fact that this trade would bring Perkins, who was traded at the deadline in a deal that brought Green to Boston, is the real eye-opener in this scenario. Alas, Oklahoma City was not interested in Ainge's proposal. Rondo has been the subject of plenty of

Tyler Seguin Answers Bruins Fans’ Questions and Reveals Shootout Technique, Music Tastes, Other Fun Facts

The beauty of Twitter is the ability to interact with athletes on a more personal level. Tyler Seguin took some time to answer questions submitted via Twitter on NESN Daily. Questions ranged from Seguin's taste in pregame music, which player not on the Bruins he'd most like to play with and what his technique is when going into a shootout. Oh yeah, there were even a few marriage proposals in between. Then again, when you're on the current tear that he's on, that shouldn't come as much of a surprise. To hear Seguin's reponses to these questions and more, check out the video above.

Cowboys Cheerleader Melissa Kellerman Forced Off Twitter After Joking About Jason Witten’s Accidental Tackle

The Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders are perhaps the most recognizable squad in the league, so when one cheerleader was forced to cancel her Twitter account, it generated some buzz. Even more perplexing, though, is the reasoning behind the organization requesting that Melissa Kellerman cancel her account. During the Cowboys-Dolphins game on Thanksgiving, tight end Jason Witten was pushed out of bounds, at which point he knocked over 22-year-old cheerleader. On Friday morning, Kellerman posted two seemingly harmless tweets about the incident. She tweeted: "Not hurtin' today, like some of y'all thought I would be! Our TE isn't as tough as he looks... That or I'm WAY tougher than I look. ;)" And then: "I'm not the best at Jason Witten trust falls. ;)" Neither of the tweets seemed offensive

Former Sabre Rob Ray Calls Buffalo’s Lack of Response to Milan Lucic’s Hit on Ryan Miller ‘Very Disappointing’

Rob Ray spent more than 13 seasons with the Buffalo Sabres and knows a thing or two about sticking up for a teammate. So when the Sabres did nothing following Milan Lucic's hit on Ryan Miller, he was very disappointed. Ray, who played with Buffalo from 1989-2003, said the Sabres had the players on the ice who would do something, so it was a bit surprising to see Lucic get let off the hook. And while he would have liked to have seen the Sabres take more initiative, he doesn't expect too much to happen in the way of fights when the teams hook up in Buffalo on Wednesday night. To hear what else the former Sabre had to say, check out

Tony Allen Throws Ball Off the Backboard for Trailing Gerald Green, Who Jams With One Hand in 2006 (Video)

by Nick Koop on Mon, Nov 21, 2011 at 8:25AM   Editor's note: The 2011-12 NBA season was supposed to tip off Nov. 1. With no games to watch, NESN.com will help fill the void by posting a dunk video every day until the lockout ends. Gerald Green currently plays in the Chinese Basketball Association and has not played in an NBA game since 2009. However, Celtic fans will remember Green for his high-flying dunks in his two years in Boston. While Green is most known for his "Cupcake Dunk" in the 2008 Slam Dunk Contest, he had some memorable dunks with the Celtics too. In a March 2006 game against the Raptors, Tony Allen leads a fastbreak with no Toronto defenders in
